I'm 16 and I'm hearing impaired and I've been praying for the healing of my ears for almost 2 years now but my hearing has gotten worse...does God not want to heal me?

Look I'm not going to pretend that I have the answer you're looking for. All I want to do is suggest that you keep the faith and use whatever you have to offer in a positive motivational way. It's not our place to question God, because as bad as you may feel losing your hearing is there's always someone out there in a worse predicament.

Unfortunately I will have to answer no. Let me put this in the right context. If you consider the birth of a baby a miracle then some might consider this a miracle performed by God. If you consider the evasion of a potentially fatal accident a miracle then one might interpret that as a miracle of God. To me the birth of a new born baby is a beautiful gift from God and the evasion of an accident is God's mercy. The bible makes it clear in the new testament that signs are done away with now that we have the more sure word of Jesus Christ. I think God could easily heal you. I do not believe in those tele-evangelists who think they have the ability to heal others through God. THESE ARE FALSE PROPHETS. If you would like some reading on this, read "The Charismatics" by John Macarthur, and read "The Corinthian Catastrophe", by James E. Gardiner. This may help you to understand why miracles are not performed today. I apologize for not having more scripture to back this up I am away from my bible. But if you are thinking of spending the money to go to one of these healers, you are wasting your time. If these healers were so real, you should meet them in the hospital from morning til night and not on a pulpit trying to woo you into a state of euphoria, feeling, and emotional roller coaster. I wish you the well.

Dan's answer is horrible and mean. You're looking at your "imparement" in the wrong way. God still loves you. He just has other plans for you. God performs miracles every day. You woke up today didn't you? The sun still comes up every morning and sets every night. You still have a roof over your head and a way to communicate with millions of people around the world. You're focusing on losing your hearing, but try to focus on the blessing you have been given with your other senses which will be heightened as a result. This may also be a test of your love for God. How do you know that He is not testing you and how quick you are to turn your back on Him when you lose something? Yes, losing your hearing isn't the greatest thing and will be difficult, but why blame Him? Love him and thank Him for the blessings you do have and try to see the miracles in everyday things.

I can sympathize with you here, I'm slowly going deaf and I'm half deaf now.

It depends on your religion and how much you believe. If you think about it, you're not alone and many others pray every night and don't recieve help.

I believe you should put your faith into those who are helping you now, you should pray to God to help those who are helping you, to help you through this time. Pray for those who are helping you now.

It's the same question you get when you think about horrible things like the Holocaust... did God want all those people to die? All the innocent children who did nothing but pray to him every night?

Don't take it so personally if God doesn't heal you right away, it might be a blessing in disguise or you might just have to put your faith into those who are helping you now.

I really don't know if He does or doesn't perform miracles. I do know that He answers my prayers, because specific, wonderful things have happened after some of my prayers to Him. They could be considered small miracles. I don't know if He will bring your sense of hearing back to normal; I do know that He uses His sheep in interesting ways. Perhaps He needs you to be hearing impaired so you can learn sign language and bring the plan of salvation to the hearing impaired community on a more personal basis.
I realize that hearing impaired and outright deaf people (especially in America and Europe) have access to many different forms of Christian books, and they can learn about Jesus Christ for themselves. Maybe a Christian relative or close friend has already introduced them to the Lord. But maybe that could be you. There's nothing better than a friend WHO SPEAKS YOUR LANGUAGE to share the most wonderful news with you.

Yes He does Heal!

Gods not like far away he gave you the light in you. He hears what your asking for. He knows your hearts desire. So don't give up. Continue praying and thanking him for your hearing.

If you can start digging deeper into the bible. Not memorizing scriptures but the concept of what Jesus teaches. Learn about the Holy Spirit and its purpose to you. It is the light that will guide you and teach you what you need to do to help you. So just ask what you need to do and listen. He will show you.

Yes God performs miracles, it's just that sometimes we don't always get the answers to our prayers the way we perceive them to be. Don't lose your belief, because we are given tasks in each lifetime, and it's the human beings we become and how we deal that God sees us. I feel that there is someone keeping track of all the good and bad things we do in this life. I know this sounds like a cliche' but when you think about it there is always someone worse off than we are. Please know that God has not forsaken you and in his love may you find peace.

Yes he does

I have a friend who's sister was on life support in the hospice (which is where they send ppl that pretty much have no hope). Their mother visited with her everyday, sat and talked with her and one day her eyes opened and closed within a split second. All praises go to God because her mother was there and looking at her to see it happen. Slowly but surely she came back to herself and now she is alive well. Out of the hospice, out of the hospital working and living in her own apartment. So yes He does still performs miracles even the smallest things we take for granted everyday.
If u believe and continue praying yes He will restore ur hearing but u have to believe whole heartdly and not expect Him to do it on UR time and wait for His time. keep on praying and believing

God performs miracles every day. However, most miracles appear to use as normal, everyday things. Waiting for a miracle without doing all you can to alleviate your situation is a fruitless vigil. Have you exhausted all the options that modern medicine has to offer?
