Because I wanted to be sure to get the 'REAL' story instead of vague twisted facts, I checked the Associated Press website on this one.
They are still uncertain due to some vague satellite photos on a few things but here is what we do know:
- N.Korea has a few ballistic (that's long range) missiles on their launch pads.
- No one knows whether or not they have been completely fueled yet.
- I could not find any credible information stating where exactly they were pointed.
- N.Korea has stated the missiles are for testing purposes only.
- If they were to be actually launched towards the USA, they would only make it as far as Alaska
- N.Korea has told the USA they have the right to test the missiles since they resigned from the NPT.
- I'm vague on the details about N.Korea and their nuclear agreement with Japan.
Ok that's what I know. As far as how I feel about it: it worries the doo doo out of me. Actually ever since Bush ticked them off stating they were in his axis of evil then invading Iraq resulting in them leaving their NPT agreement, I have been worried about this exact scenario.

They can barely life off a 3-stage rocket, let alone target US cities. The least Pres. Bush could do is go to Defcon 3, but one lone missile would be national suicide for N. Korea to even consider launching at the US, or Japan for that matter.

The US Can't stop them.... The UN was created to handle exactly this sort of problem. This is not in the best interest for the North Koreans and the world court and the UN can argue the point for the people of N. Korea. After you fix the starving you can build a missle...not before. Educate your people, then you can build a missle ....not before.
Give others a say or at least the freedom to express and then you can build a missle...not before.

They are set to launch a missle. It wont be "at" the United States, or that would be an act of WAR!
We have diplomatic resources that are going to amount to nothing. Talk doesnt work with them, they "want" us to invade them, so that we will have to set them up, with economic benefiets and all that.
This "madman" knows what he is doing. He is not stupid, as people are lead to believe and he will single handedly bring the United States to bend to his will.... (If we werent involved with Iraq, then we could have a chance to invade that Country and put an end to the Korean War as it is still not settled after all these years).
But, as our hands are tied now, we cant fight on all fronts like Hitler tried to do, or it will weaken us to invasion from some one who will utilize this as an option...
I wish you well..

North Korea has fueled a missile capable of reaching the US, but our intelligence says the prototype isn't yet capable of carrying a nuclear warhead. They are at the test stage right now.
We should observe them carefully, but remember that they are allies of China, and that to attack them would provoke the Chinese, who are itching for a reason to attack Taiwan, an allie of ours. You should read Unrestricted Warfare, by the Chinese Military online.

I heard North Korea was developing an inter-continental missle of a type which we developed the capability to shoot down during the Reagan Administration. Do we worry that we don't have that capibility, or do we crawl into our fallout shelters that we purchased in the Sixties, now?

N. Korea is probably NOT going to fire on the US for 2 reasons. One, they could probably only hit Alaska at this point. Two, they don't have the capacity to put a nuclear warhead in a rocket (at least thats what some people say). If they did fire on the US, it woudn't be good for them for thousands of reasons.

i don't like it. any country like that shouldn't be able to have those types of weapons. what we should do is have a national boycott of all goods coming from Korea. we should also send some Navy ships over there just to pressure them into getting rid of them. and if all else fails, just launch a missle at them to blow up the place were there made and launched. what are they going to do about that? they don't have the militray to react.

If they actually shoot it at us, SK or Japan. I think we should nuke them with actual nukes. We are a warrior state; we should show the rest of the world that we are not going to be pushed around any more. Iran will do what ever we tell them after that.
Besides NK is not going to shoot anything at us or our allies. No way.
