I'm tempted into buying a nissan micra but would like some feedback from people who have owned or currently own them.

I currently own a 1.2SX, which is 3 years old in September. I have been delighted with it and would highly recommend it to anyone. It has been very reliable, and servicing has not cost me much so far, as no parts have been required. It is quite spacious (the rear seats move forward/back, and fold flat), has a decent sized boot, and very reasonable on petrol. At current rates a full tank of petrol costs £30-35 and will do around 350 miles. It is easy to park and has a really good lock on the steering. Ok, its not the fastest thing in the world, but no 1.2 is. I had a renault clio before and had loads of problems with it, so in comparison the micra has been great. I

I have driven a 1.6SR, which was obviously very quick, but was heavy on petrol, and also not so good on manoeuvrability.

In answer to those who think it is ugly, I have the full body kit on mine, including alloys and eyebrows and I think it looks lovely. It attracts quite a lot of attention from people who want to know what I have done to make it look so much better than other micras.

Here are the safety ratings for the Nissan Micra http://www.euroncap.com/content/safety_ratings/details.php?id1=1&id2=165 . It's pretty safe for adults, but there is little safety for infants (up to three years old) for front and side impact. The car tested comes with twin frontal airbags and side air bags, so it should be pretty safe. Like other users have said, it's ugly, but it is reliable.

Here's some other info on the vehicle http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/micra_r.asp . It's quite fast and can go up to 240 kilometers per hour (150 mph) with the Nissan Micra R version. It's a good competition car, but it can also be used for everyday uses.

I don't understand why people say this is ugly but to me this is one of the best looking minis ever.. If you really wanna go for a mini car which is reliable and gives good fuel econ, this is a good choice.. I've driven my aunt's March ( It is named as March outside the UK) and i was satisfied by its performance but it has some wind noise and the engine revvs hard when the going gets tough.. U don't wanna go street racing in a Micra ( March) so, this is a good package even for daily usage.
