Absolutely.
Religion is the longest running con-job in history. And it's big buisness too.
At least with most pyramid scams, you get something for your investment. It may not be much, but you get something.
Not so with religion. In fact you lose everything when you sacrifice the indispensible tool of reason on the altar of superstition.

No there to much to back up God is and was here
Prophecy
In that day . . . I will make the sun go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in broad daylight (NKJV). Amos 8:9
Fulfillment
From the sixth hour [noon] until the ninth hour [3 pm] there was darkness over all the land (NKJV). Matt. 27:45
Comment
What a remarkable prophecy! The sun will darken at noon during broad daylight. Amos predicted this somewhere between 760 and 753 B.C. The sky would darken and it did happen during Jesus' death.
Not only do the gospels say it actually happened but secular scientists and historians knew it occurred and sought a natural physical explanation. This is a significant prophecy.

Most definitely - most profitable and longest running scam in the world. I cannot wait until the day that all of them are disproved - watching people run around without their precious crutches will provide those of us with a brain an unending source of entertainment for years. Of course, this will never actually happen. But, if there is a god, I wish there was a two way camera positioned near the gates of heaven, hell or whatever. Know why? Because I would absolutely love to see him/her/whoever ***** slap the bejeesus out of those that have killed in the name of their particular brand of everlasting savior.

Nice thought! You spread it to your children, the more the better. But that makes life a pyramid scam too.

If it is, then a lot of things are pyramid scams -- including the way we human beings pass on scientific knowledge.

Religion IS a pyramid scam right now. You'd be amazed at who's at the top. However, true belief ... is a RELATIONSHIP.

You know, that is a great way of putting it. Some guy edited a book written by any old fellows and people are believing it. One of the greatest scams in history all because some "virgin" said she got pregnant.

many churches are (but not all). Religion does not save! You need to personally have a relationship with God--not through a priest, rabbi, pastor, or any other teacher. Any church who uses the Amway method to make recruits and carries weird laws and time constraints, yeah, stay away from them! Only Jesus can save you.
