I use the Little Swimmers on my 20 month old, and they are great.

yes water gets inside plastic pants in the pool (just like it does with any swim diaper) the only reason to wear swim diapers or plastic pants in the pool would be to help contain poop if the child has no bowel control

I've never tried plastic pants, but swim diapers work well. They don't swell up like regular diapers do.

I use Swimmers for my son...they are like a diaper, but they don't absorb the pool water

almost all diaper companies make a swim diaper, they work best.
