No. This is DOMS, or delayed onset muscle soreness. It means you tore the muscle, and certain chemicals leak out of the muscle and cause pain. You can grow muscle with having DOMs or without - in other words if your muscle are not sore the next day it doesn't mean they didn't grow.

Depends on why they are sore. Depends on how long they are sore. Maybe you should see a doctor.

If you are sore from the gym, I think some soreness is natural because of lactic acid buildup with workouts. If the soreness lingers, then you may be working too hard or too often.

Yes, wait till they are feeling better to exercise that muscle again.

But there is a difference between sore and pain, pain is bad, sore is good.

You probably didn't warm up enough. Stretch before and after exercising or even working around the house. If it's really bad, stretch and hold, ice and take it easy a day or so.

yes if it gets unbearable you should ice and lay off for a day
