Noah’s deluge. To understand you have to start with Gen.6:1.
Gen.6:1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
The word “men” is Heb. (ha-adham) means “the man Adam” or his progeny. The word “them” is referring to Adam and Eve. The scripture is talking about Adam and Eve’s clan and not mankind. Mankind a subject for another time.
Gen.6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
The term “sons of God” means angels or fallen angels. The word “men” again means Adam and Eve’s progeny or clan. Satan was trying to corrupt God’s plan. That is, from umbilical cord to umbilical cord would come Christ. This is why Eve is called “the mother of all living”.
Gen.6:9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
The word “perfect” Heb. (tamin) means “without blemish as to breed or pedigree”.
Gen.6:17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
The word “earth” Heb. (erets) means “land”, not the whole earth. Besides God says, “to destroy all flesh” in Adam’s clan.
Gen.7:24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.
Gen.8:11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.
If the entire globe had been under water 150 days, where did this olive leaf (pluckt off) come from.
Gen 9:11 And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
Remember what God said in Gen.6:17, “to destroy all flesh”. Here God makes a covenant with Noah and his sons. Neither shall all flesh be cut off any more. Neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. Two floods. One for flesh, Noah’s deluge. One to destroy the earth back in Gen.1:2. The global flood is a subject for another time.
Some consider the plateau of Pamir to be the original Eden. This probably was the homeland of Adam's descendants up until the time of the Flood. Today it’s known as the Tarim Basin or Eastern Turkestan. This region is surrounded by a ridge of very high mountains forming a gigantic basin in the midst of them. It measures 1,000 miles long and is about 350 miles wide.
Ussher’s Chronology says 2348 B.C., Davidson says November 2345 B.C. to November 2344 B.C. for Noah’s deluge.
Records of the Sumerians in Mesopotamia., their King Lists date to about 3350 B.C., and show an ongoing civilization well through the period of the flood. Egypt felt nothing of the deluge, they had an uninterrupted succession of Dynasties. China's civilization during the Yao Dynasty (between 2400 B.C. – 2200 B.C.) with no record of a cataclysmic interruption.
So Noah’s deluge was a local flood. But there was a global flood in Gen.1:2. Study II Pet.3:5-7, Jer.4:23-27.
Psa.104:6 Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains. Psa.104:7 At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.
Gen 1:6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

The Bible doesn't give dates for the flood. However, there is geological evidence of widespread flooding in that part of the world between 4000 and 5000 years ago - which could have been the origin of the flood story (covering the world that the local people knew about rather than the entire planet).

About 1656 A.C. or roughly 4400 years ago.
From the Bible you can calculate from creation forward to the time of Abraham within 1 year. From today back there is debate. Some of our dates may not be accurate. The greatest discrepancy is up to about 300 years. Most say Abraham was on the scene in in 2166 B.C. Secular history varies a few years.
My calculations put a creation date of about 6180 years ago (+/-150y)
Yes, it not scientific - I'm just a red neck.
You may laugh if you wish. Just think about what you believe.

Wow- you never know what people think til you read their answers. It is obvious that most people do not have a clue. We should all study this subject-there is good solid info out there.

Yes there is. The beginning of the flood was in the year of 2370 B.C.E. The Bible provides chronological information that allows for a careful count back to the beginning of human history. At Genesis 5:1-29, we find the genealogical line from the creation of the first man, Adam, to the birth of Noah. The Deluge began “in the six hundredth year of Noah’s life.”—Genesis 7:11.

To determine the time of the Flood, we need to start with a pivotal date. That is, we must begin with a date that is accepted in secular history and that corresponds to a particular event recorded in the Bible. From such a fixed point, we can make calculations and assign to the Flood a date based on the Gregorian calendar now in common use.

One pivotal date is 539 B.C.E., the year when Persian King Cyrus overthrew Babylon. Secular sources for the time of his reign include Babylonian tablets and documents of Diodorus, Africanus, Eusebius, and Ptolemy. Because of a decree issued by Cyrus, a Jewish remnant left Babylon and arrived in their homeland in 537 B.C.E. That marked the end of Judah’s 70-year desolation, which according to the Biblical record had begun in 607 B.C.E. By taking into account the period of the judges and the reigns of Israel’s kings, we can determine that the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt occurred in 1513 B.C.E. Bible-based chronology takes us back another 430 years to the making of the covenant with Abraham in 1943 B.C.E. Next we must take into account the births and life spans of Terah, Nahor, Serug, Reu, Peleg, Eber, and Shelah, as well as Arpachshad, who was born “two years after the deluge.” (Genesis 11:10-32) We can thus place the beginning of the Flood in the year 2370 B.C.E.

what flood are you referring to?

The flood lasted for 40 days until the dove discovers land on the 47th day. But then, it wasn't until 150 days that all the waters were abated. Then, on the 150th day, the ark mysteriously came to rest on Mt. Ararat instead of a lower altitude. It was a miracle that the ark landed on the mountain because all the waters were already gone. For some reason, nobody could see the tops of mountains until the 253rd day because of the water, even though it was long gone and the ark had landed. Finally, at 314 days the water was all dried up, but the earth wasn't dry until 370 days. It's another miracle that the earth wasn't dry until 56 days after the water was all dried up.

WHEN Lord Jesus was angry due to the fact that Noah's fathers were doing a lot of sin upon the earth, he vowed to kill everything that was there on the earth..

However, he asked Noah to make the big enormouus Noah's Ark in which he put one male&one female of each animal plant etc that existed on eartjh..

And he flooded the earth and it went on for around a year while Noah and his animals were safe on the ark..

After the flood subsided, humanity set on earth again.

The only marking of the flood is on the Sphinx in Egypt, there is water erosion on the dessert. That water was dated to around 10000 years ago during the last glacial period.

About 4,000 years ago. You can check it "forwards and backwards," if you want, going forward from Adam to Noah, and backwards from Jesus back to Shem. Matthew 1 is good for this, and Genesis 1-6.

After God had Adam name all the animals... except maybe he didn't because there is another story before that one that doesn't mention that. Well, at least after God made Eve from Adam's rib... except maybe that didn't happen either because it's not in both stories...

And sometime before God said it was OK to kill unruly children and forbade the jews from eating lobster.
