you probably clinch your teeth all night long and don't know about it. go to the dentist. the first step is to start sleeping with a night guard. it works on most patients if you can get used to sleeping with a mouth appliance. people do it with retainers, partials, and dentures so i think you can do it.
by the way..everyone has a TMJ...2 in fact. it's the tempomandibular joint. when you have a problem it's TMD. that's a tempomandibular disorder.

YOu could have TMJ - your dentist/orthodontist can help. They'll try to sell you all sorts of things depending on if any damage is being done. I had to stop chewing gum and then I didn't need their stuff.
