actually when all 4 wheels are slipping then it wont trigger the traction control. This only happens when there is a difference of wheel speed between individual wheels. Look in the manual how to turn off the traction control and go from there. Otherwise, you can turn your car off, push down on the parking brake just enough for the light to go on and re start the car. that should start it in non tc mode.

Just like Hummer, the Military and Mud Boggers....when a large vehicle is in the sand and needs traction you do one simple thing.....let air out of the tires. This gives them a larger surface to gain traction on. So say your tire is at 35 psi, I would lower the tire to 25 psi. If that wasn't enough I'd lower it another 5 psi.
Now the Hummer has self inflating and deflating tires. The Denali you will need a portable air tank or a gas station close by as you will not want to drive low tires on pavement.

basically the denali is not exactly ment for offroad or the soft sand of a beach. it has 4 wd just to make it into the catagory of 4wd. this vehicle is only ment for the regular road and regular road conditions and even if the road gets too wet they sometimes have a tendacy to lock the wheels,

reduce the tires air pressure to approx. 15 to 20 psi, but i would consult the owners manual, and maybe a tire dealer before doing so, some 4wd and awd manufactures don't recommend you do this type of driving with their vehicle and it might void some or all of your manufacturers warranties, and a second thought. if you have a automatic tire inflation type of gmc, the tire inflators wont let you have less pressure so letting air out wont work either.

Turn off your traction control and don't do anything stupid, like stop. If you try to accelerate or slow quickly, you will just bury your wheels and get stuck.

Sorry but AWD is not and will never be 4WD. The car was never designed to be operated in soft sand.
