every time after i take a puff on a cig, i spit... is this a usual habit for some smokers?

Actually this happens to me, but not as frequently as your stating. I believe the mouth is just lubricating itself due to the smoke that's hot. It's normal.

I want to quit smoking. Non-smokers think it's easy to quit but they don't know what smokers go through when they try to quit. It's really hard to get rid of that feeling of wanting to take a pull off a cigarrett.
I heard they are coming out with a medication that helps smokers lose that addictive feeling. I'll try to get it as fast as I can.
By the way, that nasty habit of spitting, I don't have that but I sometimes spit because the saliva becomes dry while I smoke and I spit it out just to get rid of it. But no I don't spit everytime I smoke especially near other people.

Haven't had that happen to me and i smoke. One time that i do spit though is when you smoke a stale cig or a nasty one and it leaves that taste in my mouth so obviously spit to get that taste out of my mouth.
Do you spit EVERYTIME you take a puff? That's weird....

Yes it is a habit cause when you take a puff your saliva builds up and then you spit,I know cause my boyfriend does the same thing

i always see smokers spit. Now you have two nasty habits. Maybe you should think about quitting.

I have never heard of a smoker doing this. I've been around quite a few smokers and never seen anyone do this. Maybe it's a rare thing, but some do it.

This is the first time I have ever heard of anyone doing that but hey it sounds to me like you have two nasty habits. One smoking and two spiting. I hope you find the answer your looking for.

I think so. Everyone I know spits when they smoke, I dont' but I get the feeling like I need to.

I've never known anyone who does this, nor do I do it myself. I think it's very interesting that others here say that *every* smoker they know does it. I wonder if it could be a regional/cultural thing?
