go to download.com and download ad-aware from lavasoft, spybot search and destroy, and a2squared.
they should all take care of problems that you have with you pc excluding viruses

AVG is a great free program. There is also Spybot. Adaware by lavasoft. Spyware blaster. These are all free and great programs. Easy to download and easy to use. I have all four of them on my computer and I never have problems with me computer.
