I have read that Non Muslims are not permitted to practice their religion in Saudia Arabia and other Muslim countries. They cannot even say a simple prayer or have a Bible or Talmud or any holy book. Why is it then that Muslims all over the world (even in non-muslim lands) regard similar treatment against their practice of Islam to be "opression, persecution and a provocation" which justifies violence. In other words, "we should be able to practice our religion in your lands but you nonbelievers have no such rights in our holiest of lands. Please do not regard this sensitive question as a provocation. It's not. It's a sincere question.

It is not only the Muslim religion that has a double standard. Most other religions have a double standard. I believe it is the majority of humans who form the religions who have the double standard. Humans are not perfect but religious people think they are or can be and expect others to do be the same. They judge other people not to be as good as themselves for not practising their religion. The amazing thing that creates the double standard is, those who practise those religions do not live up to those standards themselves but impose on others to do the same.

You are quite right. In many Islamic countries there is no religious freedom and tolerance. The best example is Saudi Arabia, where they have a "Religious Police" which persecutes non-Muslims in severe ways. Workers from the Philippines, most of which are Catholics, do a lot of the meanial jobs in Saudi Arabia, but they are not even allowed to have a Bible or any other religious book in the privacy of their own home.
I am a member of Amnesty International for many years, and I have come across many cases from the Middle East, especially Saudi Arabia, where Christians were arrested for being "illegal missionaries" when all they really did was having a personal prayer book at home. They disappeared into prisons for months, with no trial, and some disappeared completely.
It is the pinnacle of hypocrisy and should not be accepted. But of course it is the Bush family, known for starting "Crusades" and being "close friends with God", who are financially sponsored by the Saudi Royal Family for almost 40 years now.

As far as I am concerned, I would not allow a single mosque to be built in a Christian country as long as the Islamic countries, who benefit greatly from Christian workers and specialists, refuse to allow religious freedom for all religions as well. If anyone of the political leadership would have the guts to stand up to the hypocritical Islamic bullies, things might well change for the better. Sadly, there is no one in sight...

This is not "Muslim double standard" but unfair government policy towards different people of different faith and even sects of Islam. The Saudi gov has failed on more than one level to provide basic human rights even to their own citizens.

You said (Muslims all over the world (even in non-Muslim lands) regard similar treatment against their practice of Islam to be "oppression, persecution and a provocation" which justifies violence)

It is! and shouldn't be done to anyone practicing their faith, whatever their faith is.No, it doesn't justify violence whatsoever but it's still injustice.

You are complaining about the double standards while you are guilty of it too. You have a problem with Muslims who complain about religious persecution. Yet, an opposite approach tor wards those of different faiths who are denied religious rights in Saudi Arabia.

and to the amnesty international worker: that's sad you'd think someone would have a better respect for humanity working in a job like that. I believe no matter what you see or go through, you still have no excuse to condemn injustice. Remember the golden rule "What is hateful to you, do not to your fellowmen" or "Do other men, for they would do you".

I am a Catholic, living in Tunisia, which is a Muslim country. I am free to have my Bible, go to church, say my prayers, and practice my religion. There are other Christians there too who are free to do the same. Even the Jews have rights there. As far as I know, most Muslim countries let you practice religion freely. I believe it's just Saudia Arabia that doesn't allow it.

I appreciate your sincere effort in understanding Islam. The thing is , the point u just refered to is NOT the flaw of the religion but the followers. Other than the KSA , i dont think there is any other muslim country where this happens. and i donot agree with it at all. There are alot of things and laws i dont agree with which go around in some muslim countries. But again i dont call this muslim double standards , it just happens due to the difference in opinions and situations in different countries.
There are so many things the west does which are clearly double standard .. but that doesnt mean that some specific religion or group or sect is to be blamed? its just what happens at the govt level , alot of which we cannt really help.

so far i know non-believers dn't have the right to enter the Holy Mecca in S.Arabia because simply it's a sacred place and no muslims cannot enter there without being purified...it's normal it is restricted to non-believers,if the latter dnt believe in God and his messenger, why should they be allowed to enter there.

For other parts of the world where access is refused to non-believers, this i can't explain why...so far i only know that for the muslims, there is only a sole sacred and holy place,it's the Ka'bah in Mecca in s.arabia.

Concerning the prohibition of not allowing non-believers to practice their religion in S.Arabis,it's because the Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) was born there and also, the holy book i.e the Quran, was also revealed there and all revelations were sent there. So Muslims regard this country as a pure and sacred place, maybe that's why non-beleivers are not allowed to practice their religion in that country, because the only religion that muslims believe is Islam.

Why pick on just the Muslims? How 'bout the general religious double standard? Just another scam to hide behind. Doesn't invalidate the fact there actually is a God, it just invalidates the phonies. Don't you agree, truth will out?

They have more double standards than you could shake a stick at. Its very peaceful. Unless you arent one of them, then they can do whatever they want to blow you up. Then its all good.

Islam is not a religion of peace and tolerance, it is a religion of violence, hate, submission and death.

So many Christians today tell non-believers (infidels, heretics, atheists) that they will burn in Hell. Is the next step in this in the condemnation to kill them to get them to their destination faster?

Could happen, you know.
