Years of hard work are the only way to learn this "business", but it is actually a "way of life" which requires your complete & total dedication to the horse & trainer (barn/stable). Once you can find your way into the industry, you must prove yourself in order to advance to the next level. Knowing people is the key, but you can do it without knowing anyone, it just takes longer & you gotta work harder. Everything is learned by hands-on, person to person training. It is, in essence, just one big dysfunctional family that seems to work!

I used to do those for all time without work the music, that is the fundamentals... allow them decompress. meaning a distinct time body for distinct horses, some pick a fews weeks contained in the field, some some months. at the same time as he's calm and bored, saddle him up in a paddock, and in simple terms allow him stand there. Doing actual no longer some thing. After an hour, untack him. Do it back the subsequent day. Do it until eventually he doesn't react and get all amped up about getting tacked up! Then get on him, in simple terms stand there. He in simple terms needs to come across ways to face nonetheless (it really is a huge leap for a number of those ex-music horses.) After a jiffy, walk him, it really is IT. Have a sufficiently small area that he won't be able to do a lot more effective besides. You stay comfortable, make him loosen up. He must be taught a saddle doesn't propose run, run, run... :) It potential loosen up, walk, path holiday, inspite of. you're replacing his frame of mind from runrunrun to calmcalmcalm. once he's mellowed out, you are able to start up driving him in a hoop training him walk/trot/canter same to a eco-friendly broke colt. good success, appears like your coronary heart is contained in the right position, you'll do effective!

Hands on knowledge can only be gained by doing it. That means cleaning stalls, learning to do bandages, etc.
You can read - places like www.bloodhorse.com and www.thoroughbredtimes.com have lots of TB information with info on a lot of things mentioned. There's several books about about training but the best way is get out and talk to people and DO it.

Spend time at a training center. I owned a TB years ago and worked for his trainer as a groom, in exchange for my horse being trained. It was an interesting experience...but the corruption in the industry caused me to leave it. Those animals are put through some very cruel stuff...for the love of money.
