I was raped over 2 years ago i still have flash backs and still have problems around certain men. In the beginning i became with drawn i didn't go out and stopped speaking to friends and family. I found that counselling helped me a great deal i even joined a group where i could talk with others who had been raped and after 18 months i even managed to return to the place where it happened without breaking into tears.
Your friend has been hurt and may feel changed by what happened, i have never been able to talk with friends or even with my mum about what happened i guess its fear of the way they would see me or how they feel, that's why it was so much easier to talk with a stranger.
There are many support groups who can help your friend and if it was reported the police should have given her some numbers of where she could seek help.
I also hope she went for a check up to make sure she didn't get any STDs as well as a aids test which i will say she will have to wait 6 months for the results.
I know what happened is a terrible thing but she is alive and she will learn to deal with it, as her friend be there for her but don't pressure her just let her know you are there when she decides what she wants to do.

That is a very serious issue. Of course she is going to have flashbacks and trauma. All you can do as a friend is be there for her and listen to her, in general support her. If I was you, I would have her seek couseling because she probably has some form of post traumatic stress issue and needs to deal with those issues before they affect her life in a very negative way.

Sounds like she has Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Flashbacks are a common symptom of PTSD. She needs to find a good therapist who can help her deal with this.

She definitely needs to see a therapist. Rape does more to a person than cause a fear of the opposite sex....it creates a lot of turmoil that someone should never have to deal with. I am so sorry for her, as no one deserves that. Support her and help her to be strong.

Just be supportive and suggest she gets therapy. That's a terrible thing to go through, she's lucky to have you as a friend to be there for her, but she still needs professional help to overcome that horrible experience. Stay strong for her and please be patient.

Talking to God helps alot. Ask him to help her and your prayers will be answered. God is good! Once you ask for guidance from him he will lead you in the right path. God bless you and your friend and I hope and pray that everything work out well for her.
