November is a dead time in Vegas the first 2 weeks. Thanksgiving is packed and peaks until after New Years. The biggest option, no matter what is to book no less than 30 days in advanced for the best price options.
Be careful using Priceline, Cheap Tickets, Hotwire Lowestfare.com and other websites that advertise "cheap" fares. These are highly restricted fares and can not be changed for any reason and the airlines will not touch them if there is a problem. "Cheapest" can come with a price and hassle. Shop around, Orbitz is the best place to compare. Then go to the airlines websites and see if there are better prices and schedules. The airlines have to be more competitive now, so Ive found some really good deals with the airlines and better connections.
No matter what airline you use out of Charleston, you will have to connect somewhere. Southwest does not service CHS, and ive found better fares on the major airlines and less connections. The best time to travel to get a better fare is mid week. If you travel on the weekends, be prepared to pay. There are several conventions during November, so go to http://www.vegas.com to see whats going on and when.
When selecting a flight, keep the schedule in mind over price. If you only save $30 or so and have 2 connections, there is no savings. The more connections you have the more chances of being delayed or having your bags be delayed. 30 minutes is legal connection time, but look for about an hour connection somewhere. That gives you a buffer if the flight is a little bit late.
From Charleston, since it is a small city, you are looking to spend around $400 base price before taxes and fee's which are usually around $50. The cheap, deeply discounted fares are going to come from a hub or larger more travelled city.
Good luck and enjoy Vegas! That was the last city I worked in when I worked for Delta.

Check priceline.com, but I have to tell you - price it 6-8 weeks before you go, that's often the best price.
