no matter what, any hair dye fades over time, yes i have dyed my hair and hated it, but becuz it does do alot of damage to your hair u needd to wait, olive oil in the hair for a night wrapped ina scarf will hydrate alot,or a hot oil treatment, wait it out i kno i stinks but u have greys so your hair isnt really strong enough to take on another dye, so wait it out and if your hair was medium brown before go to a little bit of a daker brown and wherever the greys were do some highlights!red dye fades the fastes just showe and shampoo twice each time and you wi l be ready in 2 weks

GO TO A SALON!! I speak from experience when I say that because I thought a nice 'dark brown' would do, but it turned black (I had damaged blonde hair). I thought I would lighten it by putting in 'light brown,' but it turned blue-black! Lovely. I had to go to a hairdresser where they proceeded to strip it to an auburnish color. It literally took 3 months for any sense of normalcy to return to my hair. It was a nightmare!!! Don't try these colors at home -ha ha.

Yea it does damage your hair. It gets really really frizzy and sticky. But if you have a really like bright red in a couple of weeks it will tone down and look really nice. I suggest you don't re-color your hair it will really mess it up.

I've colored my hair alot of times. The ONE thing that you need to know on this subject is that if you want to re-dye you hair after you just colored it, You MUST wait 24 hours.
GOOD LUCK!!!!

i know a way of toning down hair is just washing it alot to make it less bright , go to a salon and ask them because you might need to get your clor back step by step, sometimes when you put another color on top of a color it could turn green or pink, PLEASE go to a salon and ask or a beauty school ask a teacher!

I would suggest two things. A - wash it two or three times (red fades fast), or B - (my personal preference) go to a stylist. They will be able to fix it without over-damaging it.

Go to a stylist...trust me. It is worth the money to have it professionally fixed. I tried to fix it once....and that was all it took. I looked like Davy Crockett with a raccoon cap on...but there was no raccoon in sight. Ugh.
