I have my X-boyfriends name on my back. I am afraid if I cover up with new tat it will look bad and I can't afford to have it removed.
What do u think?

okay, so you screwed up. Don't do it again, but yes, you can cover it up, and I've seen some amazing cover ups. It usually costs a little bit more because most of the time a cover up is custom work, but you'll walk away with one heck of a nice tatt. if you go to someone who knows what they're doing. Good luck! And in the future, remember, the only names you want on your body are those of family members or those of someone you're inking in remembrance to!

im sorry, but I cant stop laughing. you poor baby!!! haha haha. Oh my god! please please, tell me how stereotypical you can be. You know I dont want to say such mean things but I really cant help it, especially being so annonymous on here. let me restrain myself here. OK. if you have money, big if, go to a tattoo parlor and see if they can cover up that old english scrawl with a rose or dolphin or some other chick thing. If they use colors and go over it several times it will cover it and if you look real close you can still see his name but after a few years you can touch it up again and it will be gone for good. Hey, there is no real easy way out of it, but to be honest, you are the dumbazz that did something so stupid and have to pay the price. Just think, you can use this to show your kids how not to behave! See? there is a bright side after all.

No....make sure you go to a really good place. Tattoo artists are not only great at drawing tattoos, but also great at covering them. I bet you they will do a very good job. If you have it removed, it will be more expensive and could leave scars. Might as well just have a cool tat instead of scars.

I think you should never get a name tattooed on unless it is your moms or kids! But to help with your problem, you can cover it up rather easily and cheap with some tribal art or something like that. Dark solid color with intriquet designs. You will be fine. Don't waste your time or money with removal procedures. They don't work and they leave deep ugly scars that look just like the tattoo that was there to begin with! Good luck.

I've seen some awesome cover up jobs so I would definitely go to a tattoo parlor & let them show you what can be done. Pick a reputable place, ask to see photos of other cover up jobs. And never ever get a guys' name on you ever again!! lol

A reputable tattooist will give you an honest opinion of what if anything can successfully cover up the name....I am at that point myself...although the name is small , I wasn't totally naive, its location , surrounded by other tattoos, will make it difficult to blend in with the others once changed into something else.

Well, I hate to tell you that was a bad move in the first place sweetie. Depending what his name is and how it is written, I can send it to a tat artist and he can recommend some cover up designs for you. Or if you want you can do it yourself. He is on www.myspace.com as tat2Phil.

I'm wondering why you did it in the first place.

A good tattoo guy should be able to change the name into some kind of new design that would look great. Talk to them and get them to show you a few ideas of what they can do to modify your existing tat.

I think that you should have NEVER gotten his name tattooed on you in the first place. That is SUCH tabboo!! If you go to a good tattoo artist, then they should be able to come up with something that would look good as a cover up.

A good tattooist will be able to advise you better. Usually a tribal can do it. Depends on how large an are you're looking at. My favorite tattooist had a policy that he would NOT tattoo a name on a person unless... 1) it was their child's name, 2)It was a memorial...Otherwise he would NOT do it.
