You might try slowing down your typing as well. If you're going to do something, do it well. (And use spell check)

I had the same problem and it evolved into a stutter. That's when my parents took me to a speech therapist, but that's beside the point. When you talk, try to slow it down a lot. Even if to you it feels way too slow, it usually isn't.
Try to have a bit more patience and try to spell everything out when you type. After a while trying to read shorthand gets a little difficult. That shoud really be saved for when your taking notes during a lecture or something like that so you don't fall behind. If you have the time to fully write it out or to speak slowly, use it.

First thing I would do if I were you is learn how to spell and speak correctly:
ppl - people
hav - have (How much time did you really save eliminating ONE letter?)
undrstndin (again...three letters you left out this time)
I type 60 wpm...that's words per minute. The average word has 5 letters...and you saved four letters in that question (less than a word) You saved yourself one second....ONE SECOND.
Finally....plzzzz is spelled please.
You aren't saving yourself enough time to balance out just how stupid you make yourself look. Take the extra time to spell out your words on the computer and not be in such a hurry all the time. You might find that slowing yourself down in every aspect of your life will make you stop speaking so fast. Also, people will care more to pay close attention to the words coming out of your mouth if it seems that you pay close attention to what comes out of your mouth.

First why are you speaking so fast? Are you covering for bad grammar, or pronunciation? I happens to us all when we get excited, but it's important to slow it down so we can be understood. This is, however, your job. So, practice a little bit drawing out your vowel sounds. Feel the words in your mouth. Language is a great thing, try to celebrate each word and each idea.

Take a deep breath. Pause after every sentence. It's easier said than done. It just takes practice.
You probably started talking fast at a young age. I used to talk fast because it was hard to get a word in when everyone around me was always taking control of the conversation.

Try this it worked for me years ago:
IMAGINE a blank 4 sided square box between each word.
Count to yourself, all four sides of the box as fast as you can.
Continue to the next word and then count all 4 sides of the blank box , again as fast as you can.
Practice this in a mirror for about a week.
As you progress you will note that the "IMAGINARY' boxes will disappear and your speech will be a lot more coherent to all around you.
Let me know how you make out...sincerely 'theoldtimer'

Try to remember to speak slowly and clearly. I used to speak my first language very quickly also and had to do this to slow down so anyone would know what I was saying.

I think slowing it down seems to be the best technique here.
