Yes canola oil would work well. If you do not have that on hand though you can melt butter or margarine or even used applesauce.

Canola oil is fine also if you wanted to cut down on fat and calories replace the oil and use apple sauce. It makes the cake so moist and you cannot even taste a hint of apple sauce at all. Any vegetable oil, canola oil, peanut oil........all fine.

Yes canola will work just fine, Its not the most typical cake baking oil though

It generally calls for vegetable oil, but you can also use canola as a substitute - I just used it in a brownie mix over the weekend and you shouldn't notice a difference at all.

Yes. The best is vegetable oil, but canola oil works well also. My only suggestion is to not use olive oil. I made that mistake once with brownies (I didn't realize it was olive oil), and they tasted awful!

yes! plus add a teaspoon of vanilla ans a 1/3 of butter to make the cake more moist!

Yes, you can use any oil you want. I use vegetable oil. To me, it just taste better.
