Vioxx is the medication you are probably thinking about. Just so you understand, though....it didn't cause heart attacks (at least not directly). It was shown to give patients a slightly increased risk of coronary artery disease and myocardial infarction (heart attack) over several years time of taking the medication, but it's not like you take the medication and "BOOM" have a heart attack.

Vioxx. There are over 10,000 lawsuits against the makers of it. The 4th lawsuit went to court and was settlled for millions of dollars. But a year ago it had been was considered to be perfectly safe having FDA approval, so any medication on the market today could be a killer tomorrow.

I told a medical doctor that right now 40,000 Americans need liver transplants but most will not get one meaning they will die soon. He said most of this is from people taking a medication called Tylenol.
