Actually, the lemonade stand was shut down for not having a permit, but the little girl was not ticketed. Then the city gave her a free permit to allow her to open up shop again.

alot of states are getting tough on people selling food or drinks without a permit ...think about it...that kid (god forbid) could lace that lemonade with poison ...just for kicks...or the parent could be a NUT and want revenge...Thats how some agencies think now due to the fact that people are dying from poisonings...remember the Tylenol scare? I wouldnt buy lemonade from anyone's stand....

Yes it is true. Isn't that the most ridiculous thing you have ever heard?! That poor child. I hope that police man couldn't sleep well that night knowing he 'stole candy from a baby.' Some of the best memories of my childhood trace back to having lemonade stands with my best friends. How could anyone take those memories from a child?! Absolutely horrible..

If so, it was her parents that were ticketed, not her. I'd love to see them try and collect from a 6 y/o.
