Some taxes are dischargeable in bankruptcy, but not all. Also, the requirements differ in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 proceedings.

You can not get out of back taxes, leins, fines from trafiic violations, alimony, child support........by filing bankruptcy. The court will only discharge credit cards, loans, mortgages and now things have changed, they will set you up with a payment plan instead of discharging the debt.

Um, no. yet you'll be compelled into chapter 11 paying the IRS. and that i'm no longer joking. think of of Willie Nelson. money you owe the government is often owed the government, no matter what.

too bad the Court didn't discharge your debt - you would have been the first person ever to get out of IRS debt.
