Construction companies, sweat shop type companies will be effected, but like so many causes, after a time when the heat of the moment passes, things tend to go back to what was working before the white-hot focus of the media and politicians is gone.
Hunger persists, AIDS persists everything is put in the microscope and is replaced pretty quickly. Illegal immigration will too. The consumers may pay for some inconveniences, but I don't think it will be like gas prices.
So why are gas prices going up? Supply and American's insatiable demand. If the government wants to solve a problem, ban gasoline powered cars. (An actual plan that could work would be a systematic phase out of gas powered cars.) Without them America would come up with something really quick to solve our lazy need for foriegn oil!

were paying anyway they dont have to pay for schools they are a drain on our social services so at first it will be weird but it would balance out better . they are depressing wages also ,
Maybe this would mean that a few would go out of business. Good. People who profit through exploiting the misery of others should not be in business.
There are 18 million Americans who cannot find a job, so illegal aliens who are coming here to work do so at peril to American workers.
The economy does NOT depend on illegal aliens. Sure, greedy CEOs (making $50 to $150 MILLION a year) and business owners depend on illegal aliens, the only thing illegal aliens are contributing to is the collapse of our economy and making the rich richer.

Maybe if more 'consumers' were willing to shed their corporate labels, and take the corporate label-maker away and BREAK it with a big rock and LAUGH at the corporations while they cry like a little kid that got his birthday cancelled, and BUILD THEIR OWN DAMN HOUSES, we'd be a little farther along in life and not lulled into inaction/dependency on people from other countries whose economies won't support them because their people took the easy out and hit the road instead of staying and fighting to fix their problems at HOME. This whole housing 'boom' would fall down and go 'bust', I imagine, if they went through some of these homes with a fine-tooth comb to find out if the labor laws were the ONLY laws some of these fly-by-night 'contractors' were breaking in the course of amassing their personal fortunes...building codes are a real bear sometimes, but they're there for a reason....

We're paying now. The construction companies are the ones that are making a killing off illegal immigration. Workers accustomed to "third world" wages are lowering wages for all of us, and it's going to get worse. Yet the cost of living will continue to rise. If we put a cork in illegal immigration, perhaps Americans or legal residents will now get these jobs at a decent wage, the way it once was in this country!

Construction is the last I worry about as far as illegal immigrants. From my observation where I live, they do menial jobs, handing brick and block to the masons, clean up debris, painting. They seems to work more in lawn services, mowing and weed-eating, for nurseries and landscapers planting.
What does concern me, it the issuance of "green cards" into the coal mining business, they are unskilled, the crucial component of communication is broken down due to language barriers.
Factory work, (blue collar America) suffers the most as far as living the American dream. Wages are barely over minimum wage, and soon the American dream, will no longer we able to afford a home, cars, but to simply be able to pay rent, your family, education will suffer, as children will not be able to afford to go to college. I'm appalled at the many people who owe $50K or more in financial aid with college degrees, and make nothing in corporate America, the system has failed.

I work in the construction industry. We do not hire illegals and are still growing rapidly. There are plenty of people on govt. assistance (citizens) that could use the work. I am willing to pay .20 cents more for a basket of strawberrys or a pound of potatoes. It will work out once we get them out. The economy would probably boom! I say let's try it and see.

no, there is plenty of labor, many good workers can't find work because of illegals working for alot less.
And yes the quality of the work will improve since alot of theillegals are not skilled in thier jobs.
And not really, while the illegals are cheaper by some, the contractor hiring them is just making more profit in his pocket and only under bidding enough to get the job,
and some contractors that will not hire illegals still get some jobs, so the over all effect will not hurt anyone
(except the business owners who hire them and are not going to be making as much profit)

No, this is a fallacy created by the pro-illegals. Somehow Americans still found people to build homes in this country before illegals flooded in. We can do that again. I don't just blame illegals. I believe the business owners who knowingly hire illegals should face not just fines, but jail time. They are, after all, aiding and abetting criminals.

yes, so buy ur new houses now before they cost double. yes, the cost will definitely trickle down to the backs of the consumers. hello-gasoline-. we kinda got screwed on that one since we don't have any scapegoat to blame. oh well, this immigration thing keeps our focus off of the other major issues just long enough for elections to come.
