Some Christians prefer not to label their beliefs as "religion" because the term can have a different connotation within a Christian context. In a general sense, the term religion can refer to any faith-based, legalistic adherence to a set of rules. This directly contradicts what is offered by God to Christians. Christianity is not just one of many possible sets of rules based on the belief in a certain possible God. Christianity offers real reconciliation and fellowship with a real God. Biblical Christianity has nothing to do with following a set of laws. The entire goal of Christian salvation is personal relationship with our Creator. So many Christians like to make the distinction between "religion" in the general sense, and what is actually offered through Christ.

It's a religion. Most people in any religion will claim it is more of a relationship or Life itself rather than calling it a religion. Religion has become a bad word, a lot like Cult.
Now how can I talk amongst these people? They don't listen to me. :oP~~

christianity is a religion and a relationship? hmm i bet there are some christians who think its just a religion where you go to church and just enjoy the days of prayer. but if anyone wants a real relationship with god then leave the bible and the church alone and look in your own heart and soul there is answers there that god put in all of us when we where born..
i was once a spiritualist and i believe in god of all things but it goes beyond that really.
being a pantheist i find there are truths in all religion and non religion groups as there is no other way to really know god or what he/she planned for us all....
