Kent.

It was Kent for more than 400 years but recently got knocked off the charts by North Yorkshire. Even Devon, Derbyshire and Gloucestershire beat Kent in the poll, leaving Kent trailing in fifth position. Kent got the name of Garden of England because it was the "market garden" of England producing all the fruit and veg for most of the country but that's all changed.

This is because the government are stupidly intent on building as many houses in Kent to house rich Londoners who want second houses in the country or illegal immigrants who need cheap housing. This is also why we have a dire water shortage here. Oh, the rise and rise of the chav and an increase in littering doesn't help with Kent's image.

Those of us born in Kent have seen the county turned from a beautiful country garden of fruit fields to acres and acres of concrete, tarmac and rabbit sized houses without any suitable and sustainable infrastructure to go with it.

Incidentally, if I sound cross, it's because I am.

Kent. I don't really agree though, I live in North Kent which is more the back yard than the garden.
