1 John 4:8 He that does not love has not come to know God, because God is love.

It doesn't only say God HAS love, it says He IS love.

To love is to have deep affection and care for humankind. God has demonstrated this affection throughout the years. He is patient with us, and he is willing to forgive us. That is TRUE LOVE.

The Bible's definition of love:

1 Corinthians 13:4 Love is long-suffering and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, does not get puffed up, 5 does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of the injury. 6 It does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. 7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

The Bible says that God is Love. Every single love we know is from God. John 3:16 for God so loved the world that he gave his only son to die for it. Love is God's character - which can be summed up in the Bible, merciful, caring, kind, long suffering, all the fruits of his spirit are summed in love. Even in his judgement he is merciful that is why he implores us to choose life and follow him and when judgement falls on the wicked they will only receive their just reward nothing more nothing less. He is far.

God is faith, not love. Not everyone believes in God, that is the reason God isn't love. He is simply the belief that there is more to life than what we see now. People can try to interpret that for all it's worth, but no one will know until they actually embrace it.

God is Love.

But by our human standards, love is a powerful, raw, all consuming emotion that come in many many forms.

By our standards of science, love is an emotion, a peptide produced in the hypothalamus and enters our blood stream, and not much else.

I still like the first one.

God is greater than everything.

Love is unconditional happiness and trust...the best feeling. Being loved is great, and just as fulfilling is loving someone else.

Love is sacrificing of yourself for another. Since God gave His only son to pardon our sins, He made the ultimate sacrifice. Therefore, God is love.

God is love. God, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus bring great joy and love wherever they go. Satan, however, brings uncomfortable feelings and temptation.
God loves everyone and shows us humans how to love.
