I haven't read the whole book...just excerpts. But I did hear him come to campus and speak on the topics in the book.

I'd say he's created some good discussion. In the final analysis, books like this are never the policy programs that are put into place, but they start us thinking in the right direction.

I think Vedder has outlined some interesting issues about how the education system is structured, and hopefully we'll have an open discussion of the suggestions he's made and implement SOME of them.
