I'll tell you why. The American Troops are fighting for a paycheck. If you take that paycheck away the all powerful USA military will stop fighting. The Insurgents are fighting for their country and their way of life and they ( Insurgents ) have pride. The Insurgents are fighting due to the fact they have been invaded by the Americans and they ( Insurgents ) will fight to the end of time. The USA troops will be defeated like we were defeated in Vietnam. Shame on the USA and shame on the Troops for going to Iraq.

I agree. We are a mercenary army facing commited patriots in ther own land. I feel that our true purpose there is to establish a large military presence in the Middle East, to control Iraqui natural resources, and to justify a huge military budget that benifits major US corporate interests.
Iraq as a nation is a Western construct established arbitrarily in 1920 by Britan, It is composed of several disparate and antagonistic ethnic groups that have never gotten along in the past and have almost no chance of getting along in the future. Our presence and purpose ther is simply and solely self-interest. Nothing more and nothing less. In this case, as in many other cases these days, the government of this nation does not in any way represent the will of the American people. I hope that the rest of the world understands this.

The US will fail in Iraq because it is too expensive, it cost too much in lives, money and American credibility.

I would disagree with you that the insurgents are fighting for their country. They are fighting because they are tired of being hungry and they are fighting a cultural war to preserve the Q'Ran. They are fighting because they are followers of Islam, not the leaders of Islam. I don't think the insurgents have pride, I think they are puppets of the mullahs who are fighting an ideological war over Islam. They won't fight until the end of time, either. They are killing each other 10 times more than they are killing Americans.

I am not ashamed of the troops in Iraq. I am just frustrated that the President was a sucker to go there.

"The insurgents are fighting for their country"

In that case they are fighting for Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Syria, Leabanon, Palestine, Turkey and god only knows who else.

Most of them are NOT IRAQI's

For the millionth time (although I know you will ask the question / make the statement again at some point) there are two general groups fighting our troops in Iraq.

1) Foreign insurgents as described above who are on a Jihad which has nothing to do with pride or resisting invaders to their country. These are in the main Sunni Muslims who kill many more Shi'ite Muslims than they kill coalition soldiers.

2) Saadam loyalist Baathist's who are Iraqi, and are an organised group led by ex members of Sadaams version of the Gestapo.

Neither are praiseworthy, noble, or desireable.

I find it distasteful that you find them worthy of your respect and admiration only 24 hours after they have tortured and then executed two of your countrymen.

Shame on you for both that, and consistently writing about things which you do not even understand the fundamental elements of.

Excuse me, but I don't see you over there fighting for this country! The troops are NOT fighting for a paycheck, who do you think you are you little geek? People like you make me sick, you think you are so smart and know it all, but here you are, sitting on a computer, complaining and saying slanderous things about people you have no idea about it. Those men and women are fighting because they have been trained to protect and serve this country. Obviously you are not in nor know of anyone who is in the military because if you did you would know that the pay is definately not what they are fighting for it is for honor. How much do you really think they get paid? So MAYBE you should walk a mile in someone elses shoes before you just go shooting of a bunch of bull!

How did you come up with the name erudite...did you think calling yourself this would make it so?
The coalition is fighting for the freedoms of those who live under tyrranny. The insurgents want to create a fundamentalist Islamic state and destroy those "infidels" that do not share their hateful views.
It is the responsibility of civilized nations to release those who are the target of genocide.

It's already in a _very deep_ quagmire. The USA will fail in Iraq. Shame on Bush for that brutal and illegal war! Over 2,500 soldiers died there! Is this going to continue? The answer is yes for as long as that war criminal is still in office!

Shame on you for not backing the troops, they are just doing what they are ordered, if they didn't they would be considered traitors, kinda like you. Go eat a fat cock.

us military currently in iraq....trust me, i don't need the money, I make enough money back at home anyway. we all do. we fight for our brothers and sisters in arms. take my paycheck away and we'll still defend ourselves like we always do. we serve our country proudly. remember, it's an all-volunteer army. we're out here to keep the fight away from home. get your *** off your desk and do something for your country..
