The early Jews believed in multiple gods, of which "Jehovah" was only one. Jehovah was originally a god of storms and thunder, so he was high on the god hierarchy for a desert people. Gradually Jehovah (Yahweh) was elevated to the position of the one and only god, but in the early OT there are references to the existence of other gods besides Jehovah.

The first person to establish a religion based on a single almighty deity was the Egyptian king Akhenaton (c. 1379 BCE). This was not received well by most Egyptians of the time, who, like all ancient people, were more comfortable believing in a family of gods. When Aknenaton died, his successors quickly returned to the old gods.

Sigmund Freud, in his book 'Moses and Monotheism', wrote that Moses had been a priest of Akhenaton's who, following the pharoah's death, went on to establish Judaism as an extension of his Egyptian-based religion.

Is this a trick question?

It cant be Adam and Eve, they had proof of God, they fellowshipped with him, so they would not have to "believe" it, theyd know it, so I suppose it could be Cain and Abel, or maybe other children before them.
