Water will not taste good in aluminum cans. Just sitting in the grocery store.
I think seltzer takes good due to the acid bubbles and preservatives.
I wondered that also. Good question.

Blue Can drinking water comes in a 12oz soda style can. It is the best tasting canned water I have ever tasted. It seems they figured out how to make flat water taste amazing. No weird taste. Their website is http://www.bluecanwater.com

Regular water will take on the aluminum taste..however there is carbonated water in cans (flavored waters etc.)
