Let's say there are N scriptures in the Bible. Then, no matter what the value of N, you can always ask why there are not N + 1 scriptures in the Bible.

Interesting question. It is prophesied in Maccabees that, as the End of Days approaches, an additional 74 Scriptures will appear in the sky for all to read. Maccabees is not accepted by all Christians, but it is true that there were more books considered for inclusion in the Canon (aka, the Bible; which is really just a Latin cognate for "book") that were ultimately decided against.

t was The Church that decided what Books went into Bible. why are there not more simple The Church said no! I am not saying this was right thing to do but it is what happened. Much like it was The Pope who wrongly decided Mary M. was a prostitute! Every notice the lack of books about women? Only real Book with a woman in it is Esther! I am certain there are more Books out there but Church did not approve!

people already don't read what they've been given, why make it even more? not to mention if the Bible was the only thing we're supposed to rely on, God would probably feel a little neglected since His Holy Spirit would not be needed to guide and direct our hearts in situations that aren't in the Bible...

Editing the Bible took about 300 years and they closed it as is
no more books were added after about 300 A.D.
There are, however, some changes in different translations
There is plenty to learn in the books we have

Because the Catholic Church banned certain ones for containing "heretical" content - especially the ones implying that women should be treated equally. Y'know, the ones that might disrupt the rigid order of society.

Because, centuries ago, the catholic church realised a lot of them contradicted their interests so, on the premise of 'blasphemy' and such, omitted them from the commoners reading material.
(I wonder how many xtians know that a few of the ones omitted, talked about reincarnation in a positive light...?)
