Lots of people thank god right before they eat but lots of times the food is not even good for them. So, god bless them with unhealthy food? If god didn't bless them with unhealthy food, why didn't god prevent them from thanking him for something he didn't do. Isn't it morally wrong for god to accept a thanks for something he didn't even do?

You live in a house, you can thank God for the house.
You live in a condo, you can thank God for the condo.
You live in a studio bedroom on the East Side and hear gunfire at night. Is it wrong to thank God for keeping you from being homeless?

In the same way, you can thank God for healthy food, for unhealthy food, or for having nothing.

If you believe that God is Creator of all things, then all food (as well, as housing, love, children, laughter, air, etc.) is a gift from Him. And saying thanksgiving does not behold God to you; it is merely a gesture of appreciation.

I'm just thankful to be working and able to put food on the table. Sure there are times when I don't eat healthy, what am I going to do, eat broccoli everyday, of course not. I think we should thank God for everything we have, even the bad food as an occasional treat.

God bless!

The point of thanking God is to be grateful. Having food to eat is a good reason to be grateful. If you have unhealthy food you should be even more grateful because that means that you are prosperous enough to waste your time and money on unhealthy food. I think God knows the difference between a ritual of giving thanks and actual gratefulness anyway.

Healthy or not, the point of blessing the meal is to thank God for providing it. God didn't necessarily "bless them with unhealthy food," he provided a job, which provided money, which enabled the family to eat.

I think you should always praise God that He is God.
You can praise God in all circumstances. You can praise Him when something good happens to you. You can also praise Him when something bad happens to you, not because that bad thing happens to you, but because God is God, remains God, and is always with you whatever happens to you, even when something bad happens to you.
So you can praise God before your dinner, even if that dinner is unhealthy. You praise not God that your dinner is unhealthy. But you praise God because He is with you even with that unhealty dinner.
I've read about a community where they set the table, went to sit and praised God although they had nothing to eat.... After the prayer, some people arrived in the community with food for the community.
Praise is a manner to say you have Faith in God. Whatever happens, He will always take care of you.

If I was starving I would be very grateful for ANY food, even that which I might consider unhealthy. Giving gratitude for ALL in all situations is the norm I want to live. And I am grateful for the free will to choose the food I want/need to eat.

No it's not right...if you put the dinner on the table...then you should thank yourself...if the dinner sucks & it's unhealthy & the person gets sick from it...then it's the person's fault that made it...people make money and put food on the table...not GOD...People should take ALL the responsibility & Thanks for what they have. What if someone puts meat on the table on a Friday...& they thank GOD for it...but Ooops...it was against their religion to eat meat on Friday...so some say they's go to hell....because they ate it anyways because they were starving... They should defianely THANK THEMSELVES for eating anything at all!

The point of thanking God for food is being grateful to not having to starve for that day...regardless of the health aspect. Thatis what people mean when they thank God for the food they are about to recieve.

weird and wonderful cravings like eating charcoal and ash are in reality very average - in simple terms do no longer eat it. that is powerful what combos that you may assume and rather relish - even foodstuff that you do not frequently like. try a number of those combos and revel in them moderately. i stumble upon being pregnant a intense high quality time to fairly relish foodstuff.
