first off i would like to say that catholics are still christian no matter which way you look at it. so if the pope is catholic he is doing what the jews do in respect of there founder which is Moses. and jesus was also a jew so that answers your first question.
second the first religion is sumaritain. it dates back almost 8000 years ago. this religion was based on the female version of god known as Venus. if you want the oldest you will find it dates back 25,000 years or more.
my 3rd and final point is that christianity and judiasm and islam all come from the same religion known as Zolotarian which is pretty much only 3000 years old to this day.

You have a warped sense of history. The Catholic Church was established following Christ, who came as Messiah predicted by Jewish prophets.
And the cap is not technically the same. They are both skull caps, but the yamulke (worn by Jewish men in Temple) is shaped differently and folds, while the skullcaps worn by all cardinals (the Pope is a cardinal) do not fold.

Nobody created ALL religion. Many religions arose completely independantly of one another. However, christianity did originate in judaism and many of the principles still reman. You know that old teastament thing?

Christianity takes much of it's practices from the Jewish tradition.
