My husband and I met online.... 4 years ago...
Just be careful, some people are not who they seem to be.
I believe that we got lucky...
Make sure if you meet, you meet in a public place with lots of people around.
Also, make sure someone knows where you are.. in case something goes wrong.
Good luck!

Be weary that without having any real contact with the person, they may not be who they portray themselves to be. Some people can say all the right things because they are hidden. I fell for someone I met online to because he was supposedly very poetic, spiritual, athletic, only drink milk and water and seemed to be a nice person. What I met was a man that didn't want to receive spiritual messages, drank a six pack or more of beer everyday and didn't like to socialize because he has a sweating disorder.

CAUTION!!!

Lots of success stories and lots of horror stories. I don't know what the ratio is. Here's something to think about. When communicating over the internet, you have a safety barrier, your computer plus geographical distance. Also, you can edit yourself...if you write something not so cool, you can just delete it...unlike actual conversation. Therefore, the personality you are bring presented with may not be authentic.

No, because it can't be real love. You are infatuated, or lustful for the person, but it is definetely not love. I used to date over the internet, and I would think I was "in love" with someone. Then I would either meet them, or someone else would come along, and suddenly I'm not "in love" or even "loving" of them anymore.

No its not ok Internet is supposed to be for making friends and perverts. Not to get hooked up. plus you can be a totally different person on the net than who you are in real life. I'm outspoken on the net and soft spoken in real life.

Sure, but I wonder what makes you feel LOVE when you have so much to learn about someone and are you willing to learn that? I mean are your feelings enough?
