Does it make sense to offer amnesty to immigrant families if one of the family members serves some minimum amount of military service?

Jeez, enough with all of these theories about putting felons and illegals in the military. It's obvious none of you have ever been in the military if you think that is a good idea. We need professionals, not criminals. People willing to follow orders, not break laws. Most of all, we need honorable people, not dirtbags.

I like the idea, but I say 20 years of service should be the minimum, and they can only move their family here AFTER they have completed their service. If it's really about "a better life for their children," then they should be willing to make that sacrifice. By the time their kids are young adults, they'll be citizens.
And, they still have to speak FLUENT English and pass some intelligence tests to become citizens. They don't have to be geniuses, but if they aren't capable of holding down a decent job, we don't need them. We have enough American slackers to support.

No I would not want immigrants serving in the military where they might be able to cause trouble. That would open the door for terrorists to gain access to our military. All they would have to do is pose as a legal immigrant.

In light of the recent protests AGAINST the USA by La Raza and MeCha that should STOP!! They have shown repeatedly that their allegience is with MEXICO or their respective country, NOT the USA! They are doing it to gain easy citizenship and La Reconquista as they have claimed they plan to do!! They infiltrate our neighborhoods, breed like rabbits, will become the majority on our tax dollar and then have the majority VOTE!! Who do you think they'll vote for!? An HISPANIC leader who is also a member of MeCha or La Raza who also plans to try a TAKE OVER of the SW part of the USA!! WAKE UP AMERICA!! LOCK 'N' LOAD!!

I think thats a fine idea.If given amnesty there will be large crowd that would be more than happy to serve.And believe it or not illegal immigrants can serve,but few know that option.

No. Americans should fight for America.
If you study the Revolutionary War, there were hired Germans who fought for the British. They were called Hessians. Many of them deserted once they got over here. Turns out you can't buy a good soldier.

There is a difference in illegal immigrant and legal immigrant.

That has always been in place, it's nothing new. Immigrants can apply for citizenship from the first day of active duty.
