Yeah, Deuteronomy 30:19 shows that God gave man free will. Adam and Eve had the choice to sin or remain obedient. God wants mankind to serve him out of love. He doesn't want mankind to serve him because they have no other choice.

You're assuming "sin" is a mistake. What's the point of making a robot that can make choices, if all the choices are the same?
The whole story might be allegorical, desribing how God allows us to make right and wrong choices, and EVOLVE in our thinking based on the consequences.
On the other hand, it could be that there really is a garden somewhere with an angel outside carrying a flaming sword.
Which seems more likely?

God gave Adam and Eve free will; otherwise they would be mindless and boring, not what at all God wanted. God gave them the choice to sin, thus why it is called free will. But they violated God's command and ate from the fruit anyway. Mankind was perfect until man sinned. After eating the fruit, they were no longer perfect.
I hope this clears things up more.

God is the Most Forgiving. The robot comparison doesn't work. Are you upset @ the robot for breaking down? Will you punish it? Did it make a choice to break down? No, b/c it was your own imperfection that caused it/or any other reason; imperfection in the materials used. God knows we are not perfect, not to make an excuse to sin of course, we still must adhere to strict rules but He will forgive us if we ask for it sincerely, thus the concept of repentance. Thus Adam and Eve were sent to earth and not hell for their mistake, not sin. They both decided to eat the fruit of the tree to live eternally to worship God, so it was not a sin, just a mistake and being sent to earth was the effect of that mistake.

Perfection is not the absence of free will. He made them perfect in every sense, but the position of free will is what allows a perfect being to remain perfect or to do otherwise. God is not a dictator and He made every being with option to follow him or not but he doesn't leave it there He gives them the warning that sin is bad but they still can choose it if they want. The reason why sin will never again surface after Jesus returns the second time and cleanse the universe of sin is because we are seeing the effects of sin now, war, diseases, etc. and because of this we are developing in ourselves the hatred of sin that God already had and he hoped that we would have initially but the evidence is clear now that sin is bad and we who are going to heaven don't want it again so we will hate sin. Perfection is a continually decision to follow God and we have to start cultivating the nature of perfection from now by following the word of God which is the Bible.

Adam and Eve were perfect and they had the free will God gave them to choose. Jesus was perfect, fully man and fully God. Jesus had the choice to sin if He wanted, He choose not to. Satan tempted Him many times. He just chose not to sin. Adam and Eve chose to sin. they wanted to be like God and know all. It is Adam and Eves fault that we are all now born into sin, but if it hadnt been Adam and Eve to sin, someone else would have before now. But isnt it wonderful to know that God gave us an escape from the sin we live in through Jesus His Perfect Son who died on the cross and took away the sins of all who believe in HIm and have Him in their hearts. God made man without sin. God also gave man free will to do as he chose. I doubt you'd be able to program a robot to have free will and a soul.
I think where you're getting confused is God didn't make Adam and Eve "perfect" like they could never make a mistake. God made them without sin making them spiritually "perfect".

But what exactly did Eve & Adam "disobey"? Let's see...
Genesis 3:8
Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day...
We have here a god who walks (on legs?) E&A have absolutely no evidence that this figure is a god. What they perceive is a man (who walks). This figure puts Adam to sleep before he clones Eve, why? So that Adam does not witness the procedure. They "disobeyed" what they perceived to be a man. oops, no time left, must go, maybe I'll continue later

Yes, God gave Adam and Eve free will. He does not force anyone to serve him. Because Adam and Eve had not sinned, they were perfect. Perfect = without sin. Once they sinned they lost their perfection. And because the wages sin pays is death, the moment they sinned, they began to die.
They did not have artificial intelligence. There was no "glitch".

I think you'd have to define perfect to be able to answer this question...
I dont think that god made man expecting him to be perfect, because adam and eve had free will and thus they were eventually bound to make the wrong decision and sin. So, if your definition of perfect is utterly holy, then i doubt god planned on making man utterly perfect.
Another view you could take is that god HAD made man perfect, but the devil perverted man's perfection and introduced desire to adam and eve, which caused them to sin.
