The spitting up of blood is not a very descriptive picture nor is it sufficient to make any determination as to the cause.. Is it produced by coughing, regurgitation or, just clearing your throat? All things you will have to explain to a doctor. Further, whether it is frank blood or clotted? Many factors to consider.
Your doctor will need to know specifics.

If you just spit up blood, that would be because you have bitten something in your mouth. Haemoptysis however which is the coughing up of blood from your airways is due to many different reasons.
Common include cancer, tuberculosis and heart failure. There are numerous other causes including bleeding disorders.
Ulcers can cause haematemesis - the vomiting of blood.... Acid reflux if very bad can also cause haematememsis or haemoptysis

This book is probably the most informative and practical guide on the subject of acid reflux and heartburn that I have ever read https://tr.im/Qj9dQ
I was prescribed Lansoprazole which was brilliant but after two years of aching joints, extreme muscle pain which the doc gave me cortisone jags for, with some research I discovered the drug Lansoprazole was causing these rare side effects but it was I who diagnosed it NOT my doctor, I came off the drug 2 months ago, changed my diet and discovered just eating an apple stops any acid reflux, I eat an apple before bed, brilliant no acid, any time I feel the slightest sign of reflux I simply eat an apple. Apple juice is not that good nor is anything else I have tried including honey at stopping reflux.

You really need to go to the doctor, this is nothing like acid reflux. Edit: Being a smart *** by telling you to seek help from a medical profession instead of Y!A? God how rude of me!
