Thanks all so far, that is exactly how I feel. That gets under my skin when I hear that being said.

No, because babysitting sounds like its a job. And although parenting is a job, its my responsiblity to look after her. Its not a chore, its just a part of daily life. I love every minute we get to spend together. Whether its playing outside in the kiddy pool, or relaxing with a disney movie.

Not in a serious way..of course not. It also drives me crazy when a mom says her hubby is babysitting! It's like he is doing her this huge favor when in reality, it's his job too LOL

I have never allowed my husband to say he is babysitting, and he has never called it that. If someone asks me if my husband is babysitting I correct them, I say no he is parenting.

Honestly, I've only heard men use the term "babysitting" when referring to their children. After years of hounding, I finally got my brother to STOP saying it -now, he says, "The kids are with me today" instead. Hee hee...

I hate when people say "my husband is babysitting" -- that makes me mad - always has. I always said "my son is with his dad hanging out" or "my husband is parenting" --- not babysitting!!

I don't have any but I wouldn't think any parents would say that...They are simply just raising them...not babysitting them...I hope
