Acts 2:22 "O you men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a MAN approved of God among you..."

Jesus' own Apostle said that he was A MAN...

Can you give me your perspective on this verse?

Jesus was a man. He never claimed to be God. In fact Jesus died for our sins. Can God die? If he can, who brought him back to life? John 3:16 says that God sent his son to earth, it doesn't say God came to earth. Church leaders teach lies.

Hi hi,

Thanx for the question. Jesus identity has always been an issue over all these years. It is not just in today situation, back in those days when he perform the mircale, people still want to stone him.

Anyway, it is true that he is a man. He needs to be a man so that he can bears the weight of the sin, to be that lamb that was mentioned in Isaiah (was it 53?).

Yet in John, he started with the famous verse, in the begining was word, the word was with God, the word was God. It was the same Kalimahtulah, the word of God, a title of Isa (Jesus).

In 1:14, word become flesh, meaning God became human. That is the duo identity came in.

The first 3 Gospel was written sometime sometime between 25 to 45 yrs after Jesus death. (About 55AD to 75AD). During that time, many eyes witness were presence, and they know that what was written was not friction.

However, by 80 ADs, some funny teaching started to comes in, the mystical teaching of Jesus. These teaching later became Gnostic Gospel. Some taught that Jesus was not really a man, but only appear, some taught that Jesus was not a God, but God decend upon him.

John, the last surviving Apostle, felt the need to reestablished the right teaching, and wrote Gospel of John, which was somewhat different in style with the rest of 3 early gospel.

To understand the problem within the christian community, perhaps you may want to read the epistle of John, which gives some light to the problem penetrating into the Christian Community.

Should you have further question, please ask.

Cheers,

Jesus was a man while he was on this earth , He was born of a woman in the flesh by immaculate conception . He was conceived of the holy spirit and born to a woman . This is the way it had to be done in order for him to die and be reborn . According to the scripture the new covenant states the he had to shed his blood in order to cover the sins of the world . In order for him to do this he had to be born as a man live as a man would live and die as a man would die . He could have called down a host of angles to free him from the cross if he had wanted , but he chose to honor the covenant that his farther had established with the world .

In Christianity, Jesus is God that descend to earth in the form of man. So, it is valid to call Jesus a man or the son of man as we often heard.

Jesus own Apostles denied they knew him, and one betrayed him, so what diffrence does the verse make? What his Apsotles said, or what Jesus himself taught them? He WAS a Man,thats obvious, but he was also God in the flesh, a man with the spirit of God himself, seperate but whole.

John 14:
7If you really knew me, you would know[b] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him."

Yes it is correct, Jesus was a man just like you that is why he can identify with us and intercede on our behalf to God the Father. He was man, he was the son of man and he was also the son of God. He choose to put down is divinity and take up humanity in order to save us. He could not save us if he didn't go through the trials we would, he would not be qualified and we would even be tempted to say that he doesn't understand the temptations, trials and pains we have to go through so we have to sin, he came to set and example for us to follow and he was fully man and also fully God but he choose to be man in order to save you and I.

the word man was referring to the human body that Jesus dwelt in. it does not imply that He was a man, and not God. the guy that wrote the book of Acts stated several times that Jesus was the Son of God.

Jesus was (and is) the perfect human being. There was no way, while He walked the earth, that He was not human.

At the same time, He was (and is) God; there is no way in which He was not Deity.

There is no contradiction, just a deeper insight into the truth.

Indeed, Jesus is 100% God AND 100% Man.
This is the mystery of Incarnation.
