Were they infact, the first beings on earth? And if so, does that mean they did not really look like what we do today?

Why don't we get the proof first? Right now, there is NO proof that we evolved from monkeys or that there is this supposed missing link. Any scientist will tell you that until you have this proof, everything else you write in your question has no foundation.

Theory: The answer is not only in genetics, but also in the Bible.

Genetic mutations happen, this is easily proven through observation and any 7th grade biology class. Traits that are common in parents often pass themselves on to offspring. At some point, those traits will become racial variations. All it takes for Adam and Eve to co-exist is a genetic trait passed on through the parents.

Evolution can be reconciled with the Bible in the following way. Assuming that the trait which makes Adam and Eve human is a dominant family trait, one only needs to read the Bible to discover that the injunction against incest does not occur for several generations.

So picture the family tree this way. Nog and Ung beget Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve share the genetic trait that makes them Homo-Sapien. Adam and Eve beget Cain and Able. Cain kills Able, then finds a wife passing on the dominant "family traits." Cain dwells in the land of Nod and builds a city there. Yada, yada, yada.

Interbreeding, as evidenced in the Bible, eventually creates a stable gene pool. Once that gene pool becomes stable, God finally decides it's time for fathers and daughters, brothers and sisters, mothers and sons etc. to stop playing slap and tickle with each other.

Evolution is a slow process, but, if the first humans were incestuous for several generations as the Bible claims, the traits that make us Human would have become racial variations by the time they started interbreeding between families.

Yup! Adam and Eve would have felt right at home in Arkansas.

Adam and eve is just a story that would make sence to the early catholics, and it teaches a lesson, which makes it a popular story. For example, would you like a different version that goes like this."Once man evolved from the filthy and unruly neandrathals, they discovered that loseing a loved one hurt, they then started careing about one another and as luck would have it, they formed a bond with other neandrathals. Then they started to share stories from the past, and as their brain started working through experience, they came up with a way to keep each other acting civilized, they called this entity GOD. And then they would threaten others that if they wouldnt act civilized that they would go to the worst place possible when they died, and since fire was still relatively new and misunderstood, and the combination of early man falling into gapeing holes and left there to die,( for there was not rope yet) they came up with a story invented, called Hell. And through the ages there were more things added to this story and people began to spread the word as some are more easily brainwashed due to their miserable lives. Then some others would change words in the story and create different religions, and as mans intelligience grew, created so many different exciting stories that soon there was a story for every part of life you could possibly dream up, and here we are today, useing religion to accomlish any task, good or bad for ones goals. Ironic isnt it?

Ah, big mistake in your argument. It is NOT proven yet that we have evolved from a species of monkey. It is a THEORY that we have evolved from monkeys. There is still the problem of "the missing link".
Adam and Eve are probably more symbolism of coming from a single origin area. I think it is proven that we do not look like they would because there has been thousands of years of adaptation causing different facial shapes, skin pigmentation as protection against the sun, etc.

No, it hasn't been proven that we "evolved from monkeys". It's just a theory. They have not proven it yet. And yes, Adam and Eve looked like us. They didn't look like monkeys. And they were the first beings on earth.

No one contends that we "evolved from a species of monkeys". That is a gross misrepresentation of the process of evolution. The story of Adam and Eve is an allegory...it stands for truths, but is not historically factual. Even the author of Genesis did not mean us to believe it literally.

Super Monkeys so genetically engineered a man named "Adam" from their own DNA... Oddly enough when they triggered the wrong strands he became what we know know as human, "Eve 1.0" Code Name: "Lilith" was also cloned from monkey DNA. In which something went horribly wrong and she would not obey Adam or the creators. So they had to boot her from the Eden they were forced to create by God.... Then, with no other source of material to use... As the Super Monkeys were dieing off... They took Adam's rib and cloned "Eve2.0" who was supposed to become a less controlling and flaky female.

I dunno, I get silly when tired.

On an odd sidenote... Adam and Eve were the first naked people I ever saw in my life... -_-;

It cant be proven, because we didn't evolve from monkeys.
Adam and Eve were a perfect human creation. They at their beginning didn't have the sicknesses and pains that we experience. So in a way they didn't look like us - they looked heaps better.
The Bible is God's Word and as such should be our source of information. If we were descendants of monkeys,God's Holy Word would have said so!

You are in DIRE need of education. Humans did NOT evolve from "a species of monkey".
We are primates, just like monkeys, chimps and apes. This is undeniable fact.
And as primates, we share a common ancestor with our other primate cousins.
This brainless argument about "a species of monkey" is a creationist lie. It's just more Pious Fraud...

This, along with numerous other questions, underpins my belief that Science and Religion are not compatible Science = based on evidence and the continually questioning supposed fact; meaning if new evidence surfaces, it's OK to to update the facts. Religion = based on faith. Just believe it. Question it? Just as you have done above... not part of the gameplan.

Today, this argument is often termed as "creation theory", or more specifically "intelligent design" ... so my question back - who created the creator then?
