If it was Jesus' purpose, his destiny, to die for our sins then why did he pray to God that he should not die?
If Jesus is God then why,at Getsemane, did he say '...not my will but your will(God's will)'?
If Jesus was God then why did he prefer to call himself 'son of man'?
If Jesus is God then why did Satan even try to tempt him?

I know that allota people would propably say that Jesus is God manifested in flesh, something like that.

Can you give me good solid proof, within context, that Jesus Said that he came to die for our sins?

>>>If it was Jesus' purpose, his destiny, to die for our sins then why did he pray to God that he should not die?<<<

Actually, He did not pray for that. Not the way you've described it, anyway.

Read the Gospel accounts of Gethsemane carefully. Jesus clearly prays that "this cup of suffering" be taken from Him, but only IF IT IS THE FATHER'S WILL.

He concludes with "Not my will, but your will be done" -- which is glaringly different from the way you've described things.

>>>If Jesus is God then why,at Getsemane, did he say '...not my will but your will(God's will)'?<<<

Because He was praying to another person in the Trinity -- God the Father.

>>>If Jesus was God then why did he prefer to call himself 'son of man'?<<<

That's how the Messiah was referred to in Judaism.

>>>If Jesus is God then why did Satan even try to tempt him?<<<

Because Satan is one persistent little bastard.

>>>Can you give me good solid proof, within context, that Jesus Said that he came to die for our sins?<<<

Both the Old Testament and New Testament are clear that He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. The OT predicted it, and the NT confirmed it.

Even if Jesus didn't exactly say that, did He really have to? It's sort of like if you went around telling everyone, "I'm a person." Some things just go without saying.

The Bible says that through the Blood of Jesus Christ that is the only way for salvation. Since Jesus' death the need for animal sacrifice has ended and because Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice. The old testament writers in Daniel 9 and Micah 5 talks about the coming Messiah and that he must be cut off which means die. So then it was prophesied way before that that he must die. Remember that Jesus was human and he prayed to his father daily for strength and guidance he was just like us or else he could not die for us. He felt the pain and fears as we do but the difference his that he did not sin. John 3:16 for God so loved the world he sent his son to die for the world. Jesus left us and example that we should rely on the heavenly father to get through all the troubles of this world. He prefer to call himself son of man to emphasize the connection that he has with us. He is truly one of us and thus that makes him legitimate to die for us to redeem us from sin.

If it was Jesus' purpose, his destiny, to die for our sins then why did he pray to God that he should not die? If you read it all it talks of his great sorrow, and he goes on to talk about how this spirit is willing but the body is weak. It's natural for a man not to want to die lol.
If Jesus is God then why,at Getsemane, did he say '...not my will but your will(God's will)'?
Well, Jesus is not God. He's God's son, the very first of all his creations.
If Jesus was God then why did he prefer to call himself 'son of man'? See above... trinity doctrine is obviously false since God wouldn't need to pray to himself lol.
If Jesus is God then why did Satan even try to tempt him?
Satan wanted to tempt him because had Jesus been tempted, he would not have been perfect and therefore would not have been a sufficient sacrifice to God for humankind.

Same question has always baffled me too, the only answer i can come up with is that according to organized christian religion we are all 'children of God'. Jesus as the son of god was too special to be lumped in with the rest of us so he became known as God, because he was filled with the 'holy spirit' and was carrying Gods message.
He was also man, and was prone to doubt and weakness just as the rest of us are, although he was in the fortunate position of not needing faith he was still fearful of death.
He was the Son of man because he was our servant, he died for our sins.
And I have no Idea why Satan tried to tempt him, but Im guessing it was the best opportunity he had gotten in the last umpteen million years and so i suppose he had to give it a shot. Hope you get some more informative answers than my ramblings.

1) Jesus is the son of god, right? So who is married to god? Is there like a first lady? And did they have sex? Or was that considered immaculate conception as well? Jesus used the analogy of father and son to help his believers understand the trust and obedience that he had for God. Jesus was not the son of God in the same way that he was the son of Joseph. On earth, Jesus was born of Mary by immaculate conception. 2. Did Jesus preach the end of the world was imminent? He mentioned the end of the world in passing, but mostly He talked about His return to earth. 3. Who's wedding was Jesus at when he turned water into wine? Probably a family member, as it was his mother who asked him to do something. 4. After Jesus was "lost" as a boy and then turned up 30 years later, was he shocked to find out he was the son of god? Or did he already know? And if he knew, was he saying he knew? Most theologians think Jesus probably realized his mission when he was 12. The family had come to Jeresuleum for Passover. Passover is a religious holiday, and to this very day all observant Jews want to celebrate passover at the temple in Jeruseleum. 12 is the age that a Jewish boy becomes a man as far as participating in religious ceremony. So you have a lot of old friends and extended family who you only see at Passover. The women are all talking in one corner. The men are talking in another corner. The kids are playing, with very little supervision. In this time, Jesus slipped off. He went to the temple to discuss scripture with the scholars. Mary thinks he's with Joseph. Joseph thinks he's with Mary. Both of them think he's maybe in the group with his cousins or friends. They get where they are camping and realize Jesus isn't there. So they send his brothers out to search. They search. They start to panic. Meantime, Jesus is talking to the teachers, totally unaware of the time. Joseph and Mary retrace the whole day's journey and find him there. That is the only time, Jesus was lost. You don't hear again until he is 30 because to the gospel writers (and the larger culture) children didn't really count. When Jesus was 30, he was immediately in the temple preaching that the time had come and saying things that the priests thought were blasphemous. Was Jesus a virgin? Yes. However, we would probably call him a workaholic rather than sexually repressed. He didn't have time to marry or have children because he was busy preaching and etc. What happened to the woman that gave birth to Jesus (Mary?) and his pseudo father? Joseph isn't mentioned a lot in Jesus' adult life. Most scholars think he died before Jesus was a man. Mary was given into the care of the apostle John when Jesus was crucified. Answer as many or as few as you like. But I respectfully ask that you not quote any scriptures as I find them impossible to understand. Try a modern Bible. I prefer the message. It is very user friendly.

Good questions. I don't have a lot of time to answer so I'll make it to the point:

1) Jesus didn't so much pray to God that he would not die, but said "take this cup from me, if it be Your will, but Thy Will be done." Jesus is fully human and fully divine. His humanity feared death as all humans do. His humanity feared pain likewise.

2) God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Son spoke to the Father. The Father also spoke to the Son on His baptism.

3) I don't know about preferring to call himself Son of Man, although He was also Son of God. Maybe the same reason He referred to Himself as I, not We (as God did in Genesis).

4) Because Jesus' work was so devastating to that of the enemy. The enemy was trying to work on Jesus' humanity. In the same way that the enemy tries to work on each of us whom Christ has claimed.

Why give you what Jesus said? Actions speak so much louder than words.

HE WAS MEANT TO DIE ON THE CROSS FOR OUR SINS HE IS THE SON OF GOD NOT THE SON OF MAN
satan temped him because he was fasting for 40 days and forty nights so jesus would slip up so that jesus would no longer be the purest of all so that he couldnt fullfill his destiny for the cross.. but jesus used scripture against him and won..

The fact that Jesus prayed that He might not die proves that He was tempted in all ways as any man. The fact that He accepted God's will proves that He was not like other men.

Jesus calls Himself the Son of man in order to point up the fact that He is, indeed, God made flesh.

It is interesting to note that, throughout the Bible, there are several allusions to the phrase "Son of man;" sometimes the term is captitalized, as in Dan 7:13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him, and other times not, as in Dan 8:17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision. It is pretty clear from most of the text that when the Son of man is capitalized in this way it refers to the coming Christ, and when left in small letters, it refers to mortal man.

It is also interesting to note that when Satan did try to tempt Jesus, he consistently failed. One more proof that Jesus is no ordinary man. Also, did you notice Jesus' response to Satan at the last temptation? Mat 4:7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. And again, Luk 4:12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. It would seem, from the context, that Jesus was referring to Himself.

Jesus speaks of His coming death in John 12. The reference is too long to post, but it is a very interesting discourse by Jesus about what is about to happen, and why. Especially relevant to your question, however: Joh 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
Joh 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
Joh 12:33 This he said, signifying what death he should die.

I hope this helps you find the answer you are seeking. :)

first of all, the da vinci code is fiction, for whoever said that

jesus asked that if there was any other way, rather than the most painful possible death (death on a cross), that he would take that, but he knew what he had to do, and he would do his fathers will. The son of man was the way the jewish referred to the messiah- both son of god and son of man. Satan tried to tempt him to prove that he could beat god, and when Jesus triumphed, it proved that he was fully God.

jesus said he came to die for our sins during the last supper, "this is my blood, shed for you, for the forgiveness of sins"

1. Jesus was FULLY human and FULLY divine. Actually, Jesus asked God if there was any other way, not that he shouldn't die.

2. God is comprised of three persons, the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit.

3. See #1.

4. See #1.
