i am am a studying minister in the SDA CHURCH. and i apologise for any former members of the church, but i would like to clear up some pretty false issues as listed by some people in your answers...although ellen white was an influential part of the church's origins, we as SDA's do not consider her more influential than the God and the scriptures. if you as former members have experienced this, than that falls on YOUR church leadership. the adventist doctrines clearly state the bible as our true source! we are not a cult!!! because we try and follow the letter of the bible as closely as we can does not make us a cult. is it not true that the bible ways remember the sabbath day and keep it holy, what about we are not to eat any unclean food, our bodies are the temple of God...why is that so bad, why is that considered to be characterisitcs of a cult?
if trying to keep to the word of GOD is a cult, then hey, SDA's are a cult, but you cannot deny that we try and keep as closely to the lord's word as we possibly can...

NOT ME!!! I would never join an organization with so many questionable and non-Biblical teachings that follow the teachings of a person (Ellen G. White) over the Bible. Furthermore, we are to pledge our loyalty to Christ and not so some fake manmade religion or church. I am proud to say that I am a born-again Christian washed in the blood of Christ.
Read John 3:3-6 and Ephesians 2:8-9

I am proudly a Seventh-Day Adventist, and im from NC.It says IN THE BIBLE that the seventh day IS the Holy day, just look at Geninsis. we dont eat pork and most of us a vegan.(but not me) i mean who would eat pig, its consider unclean (also in the Bible....email me if you want the verses!!--rachelle.w1847@yahoo.com). there is a LONGGGG story to Adventisim and if anyone wants to hear it i will tell you. just ask.

I'm not an SDA I'm glad to be out of that cult! They worship Ellen G. White more than God. They will abuse you mentally & emotionally!
