I wonder if you use hair oil...
What I do is apply hair oil overnight atleast thrice a week and have a nice shampoo to rinse and then use a dry hair conditioner...
Might sound weird but apply the egg white to your hair and leave untill it dries up then wash your hair to get amazing results...

Pantene is the worst shampoo you can use, sure it will make your hair feel different to you but the reason it does that is because of all the wax that gets applied to the hair in layers upon layers, as soon as you stop using pantene your hair is the exact same way!
Farouk hair systems offer a product called "Silk Theapy" it smells great and is like an oil but dries great without the oily residue. It will add softness, help control frizzies, smell good, and feel silky. A little goes a long way, an excess of anything is bad. It has a pricey little tag $12.50 for a small bottle, but depending on the length of your hair will last a while.

Coconut oil is great I've heard. My old boss is from Australia, and she says you buy it in solid form. Put a bit in your hands and warm it up and then run it through. Do this before you go to bed. Sleep with it in your hair, with a towel on your pillow. In the morning it will all be absorbed and your hair will be soft and shiny, not oily. She used to do it once a week or so, then she only had to do it once a month.

The best shampoo/conditior I ever used was Garniet Fructis. That stuff works MIRACLES. I had a similar problem about a year ago, but this shampoo made my hair really silky and shiny. I definitely recommend it.

Use a drop of oil (Extra Virgin Oilive, Jojoba, and Coconut are probably the most used. Yes, you can use food versions.) on your damp hair.
Also. If your hair is fairly heathy, it might be because the shampoo, condtioner, whatever has more protein than your hair can stand. If that's the case, you might want to skip the egg treatments.

Whip up egg whites, massage it into your hair and leave it to dry. Just make sure you wash it out with cold water, otherwise you'll end up with scrambled egg white in your hair!
