It is completely rude to fart in public. You should try to make it to a restroom. But if you can't make it swim to where there is the most people and that way you can pretend it was someone else.

In my experience a fart that comes in contact with water is quite bad. I would get out and get as far away as possible because mine would definitely be noticed.
