Well, when I was eleven/twelve, I did the ridiculous mistake of trying to do a short fringe by myself... it completely backfired! Now, they grew back quite a bit, but there's still a long way to go until they reach my desired length (to the waist!). It limits my hair opportunities! So, what's the best for me to do? The rest is pretty long (well underneath my shoulder blades) ... I just don't know what hairdo(s) would be best for me! Oh, and for more details, I have a thin and oval-shaped head and my hair is thick and both wavy/straight due to my very, very mixed origins. Thanks for any help given- I know it's tough!

Well, maybe not to the waist, but already about, oh, around the belly button would be good. And I think all those people who are freaking out about me saying "to the waist" is because they're overlooking the fact that my hair is already quite long... plus, hair grows pretty fast.

Clip it back until it's grown properly, or use pins so that you can't see them, and it will just fall into the rest of your hair.

well start off by what style are you wanting to achieve with waist length hair? If the desired style has layers then sure, go ahead and put some layers in it, if it doesn't I would stay away from layers because they are going to be as hard to grow out as your bangs. Either use a product to help accentuate the waves, or a flat iron to make it all straight. My suggestion is to grin and bear the wait until you reach your goal, anything you do now will affect the final outcome. (I would however continue to get the ends trimmed to keep breakage to a minimum because super thin ends on extremely long hair looks terrible)

Hello I am a hair stylist and in this situation I would recommend cutting the fringe until it is one length. This will make the hair appear to grow longer and faster-
Why it will make the hair will grow longer is because you will not be dealing with all those different lengths. No matter how long your hair grows with it being in different lengths you will never get out of the fringe layered look until the hair gets trimmed one length.
If you feel your hair to short to get it trimmed one length, have it trimmed a little at a time until the layered/fringed ends meets up to one length.
Every time I do this for clients who are in your situation say they feel their hair growing out faster. The reality is we are eliminating the problem of layers/fringe now and then as it grows you can concentrate on length.
Your hair grows approx. 1/2 inch a month so when trimming keep this in mind. In the summer the hair does grow faster and the winter it slows down.
Hope this helps Good Luck!

Are you sure you want to let it grow to your waist? Having really long hair actually limits your hairstyle options a lot more than having shoulder lenght hair. I would recommend keeping the length at about the shoulders and adding some long layers. It will really give your hair a healthy appearance.

Olive oil is really good for your hair. You should apply it once a week and wash it out the following night. The only way to really rid of your split ends is to trim your hair regularly. Also, do NOT comb your hair when it is wet because that is when it is most brittle. Also you can try mixing a little bit of honey, olive oil, and one whole avocado for a deep conditioning hair mask once a week.

You could get some braids in your hair with weave. A weave ponytail could really help. Maybe get a real cute wig to wear. Be realistic. Get a hairstyle that people will think that its your hair not have hair all the way do to the floor.

i think that maybe you should go to a beauty shop and see what style that they think would look good now.. they have books there to look at too..it is really hard to understand how you did your hair but either way it is probably time to go visit a beauty school

Layers can look really good or really bad. You need a hair stylist who knows what she/he is doing.I have had good and bad layered hair styles..it's a gamble!! Good luck!!
