A Muslim should not believe in astrology and things associated with it such as fortune telling etc as it is nothing but LIES
The Islamic belief is that Allah is supreme and ONLY he has knowledge of the future, which is very logical to believe.
The argument here is that if Allah claims ONLY he has knowledge of the future believing in something or someone other than him to have powers equal to Allah is shirk (equaling partners to him) so it is a GREAT sin.
Stay away from astrology if you are a Muslim. If you are to comeback and ask me sometimes what the sleuth Sayers say are true ?
There is a hadith in which prophet says that they will give you stories which they intercept from Satan but for one truth Satan will add a million lies. So practically all are lies and its a sin to believe anything other than Allah has powers of future

A Muslim should not believe in astrology.According to the teachings nobody knows what the future holds except God.
(However there may be some exceptional people or prophets in history,i am not sure about this ofcourse). Not these commercial astrologers who pop up on internet windows.

I think it says that if you follow the stars then God will not answer your prayers for a while, so I don't think it's permissible, but I may be wrong because I got that from word of mouth. (The person I got it from is trustworthy though, so I trust him, but maybe you should look it up in an english version of the Quran to be sure?)

All muslims are not allowed (haram) to believe in astrology because the future belongs to Allah only.Only Allah who knows the destiny or fate of someone in the future. If we believe in astrology we will be called as shirk the unforgiven sins. The fate of each person is not determined by the star in astroligy which is group in their birth dates. Allah has decided the fate and taqdir of each person when he/she is still in the womb of his/her mother. as stated in the qur'an although we do not know it.We should believe in it because it is included in the six pillars of eeman (faith).
