There are many shops and on-line sites selling bondage equipment.

But your ideas about so much "security" are disturbing. Experienced bondage players have a rule of thumb: "What if there's an earthquake?"

OK, so maybe they don't have earthquakes where you live, but you get the idea. If you are seriously going to secure the guy with locking hardware, keep a set of HUGE bolt cutters right next to the bed so you can UNsecure him quickly and easily without fumbling with a key.

If you haven't considered earthquake, house afire, etc, you probably haven't considered what happens to your guy if YOU pass out or (heaven forbid, but it could happen) suffer a fatal brain aneurysm, etc, while he is secured. Arrange to phone a "guardian" hourly during the bondage session. If you miss a call, the guardian knows something is wrong and comes over to check on everyone's safety. ... And/or arrange your bonds in such a way that your guy can free himself in an emergency, like a couple 'quick' chain links he can unscrew.

All that said, why irons? Padded shackles will be much more comfortable for your guy. And simple cotton rope tied with quick release knots is cheap, lightweight, and easy. Or wrap him up in saran wrap. (Keep paramedic scissors on hand, just as you would keep a bolt cutter on hand for irons.)

Most important, make sure your guy has a "safe word". This lets him scream "NO NO LET ME GO" without really meaning it. "Red light" is the best known safe word. If your partner "red lights" it means EMERGENCY -- all play stops and all bondage is released IMMEDIATELY. "Yellow light" means things are starting to go a little too far, ease up. "Green light" means "Yeah, baby!" haha.

I suggest you read "SM 101" by Jay Wiseman for more safety tips (and more FUN tips too) before you try this potentially dangerous activity.

The best place to buy handcuffs is Discount Handcuff Warehouse www.handcuffwarehouse.com . They have a huge selection and low prices. Most police in the USA use Smith & Wesson or Peerless. For Peerless, the basics are Model 700 handcuffs and Model 703 leg irons. The basic S&W models are Model 100 handcuffs and Model 1900 leg irons. They also have lots of high security restraints and accessories.

the cuffs You would get from an adult store are not very strong and mostly for play and looks...There are better restraints You can buy on line from a lot of different distributors. i would really suggest to try ebay as usual You can find almost anything on ebay, also look in magazines that are for policemen and military people.....handcuffs should be easy to find, shackels like metal ones will be harder. my Mistress has a set of heavy shackels like that but to be honest i don't know where they came from(i will ask Her tonight) and we rarely use them instead we have wrist and ankle cuffs which You can buy also on ebay and You may not care but they are secure and a lot more comfortable to have on for longer periods or move around in because the metal shackels really dig into the skin and cause cuts .....this may be what You wish for but it will leave Your guy with some nasty abrasions aftewards that are in very obvious places so You may want to think about the cuffs

Yes it is certainly permissible to purchase police handcuffs if you are a "civilian." This is not a controlled item, and you can call Gall's police supply and order them online, or from Ebay. The controlled items sometimes require you to send a picture of your police ID to purchase but even some of those (like batons for example) are available to civilians.

look in the local phone book. there are stores that do the police supply business.

Plus, some of the BDSM sites will have links to toy stores.

I had a GF that used to have regulation cuffs and she used 'em on me. she got 'em from a police supply store.

Plus, you don't have to have police cuffs, there are other, more comfy cuffs that, if sized right, he can't get out of.
Course, you can always use the police cuffs for punishment.

good luck
(and have FUN!!!)
