You do not get drunk quicker when using a straw or bottle, it is an urban myth, probably spread by alchol compainies so people buy bottled beer at 4 times the price of draft.
Lying down and standing up get you drunk quicker than seated because it improves you circulation. You will also drink more, hence bars removing all the seats, maximise profit.

You drink quicker from a straw, and you get more oxygen which helps the alchohol absorb quicker. By the way you drunk quicker by drinking in the shower because it increases your blood pressure and heart rate (the shower) if it's hot.

Because you drink more, quicker. It's just like what someone told me about a Chinese restaurant, their waiters would get in trouble, or fired if they didn't give everyone a straw with their beverage. When people drink out of a straw, they end up drink more ,and faster, than without one. And at a restaurant, it fills you up quicker.

We were always told at Alcohol awareness meetings that if you prefered to have a splash of lemonade with your beer or lager (or drink shandy) that the oxygen particles in the lemonade carried the alcohol through the system faster than the alcohol would normally travel without the oxygen.
If it's untrue I have been believing it for 15 year's. Fool.
Never bothered me I only drink the stuff neat.

actually you dont get drunk quicker if you drink out of a straw or bottle. they did a study on that and it was revealed as a myth. i think it makes you think that you get intoxicated faster because its like if you were downing it. but thats about it.

I think it is to do with taking in more air with the drink, which makes it travel round the body faster. It also means it wears off quicker, and may explain why drinks with the air built into them (such as fizzy drinks like spritzers or champagne) tend not to give you so much of a hangover.

Probably has something to do with the amount of air accompanying the beverage into your mouth, not to mention people will often take a bigger drink from a straw than when sipping from the side of a cup.

you get drunk quicker when using a straw i dont no why. Also when you are sitting down or layingdown and drinking......you are sitting still and not moving so it seems like you got drunk faster because when you try to get up its hard....but it doesn't make you drunk faster...
