My Mastiff is 12 years old..past her life expectancy...and she has this huge welp on her leg that is infected. She also has one growing on her tail. Does anyone here know anything I can do to at least ease the infection? I would take her to the vet, but she is so old she can barely walk, much less step up in a car. I am also afraid that if a vet looks at it, they will want to put her asleep...PLEASE HELP.

As a breeder . You need to take her to the vet even if she cant walk than you need to pick her up some how. I breed Boxers and cancer and tumers are a part of it. Take her or your just hurting her if you don't. I know this will sound mean but she might need to be put down if you cant handle it bad part of geting old.

Because of your pets age, fatty tumors appear on the body. May or may not be cancerous. Vet will have to pull some fluid from the tumor and look at the cells to tell you for certain.

Only you can make the choice for your pets quality of life. A vet can make suggestions but can not force you to put your pet to sleep. They will tell you what the see and how they think the animal feels. You must decide from that point. If you feel your animals quality of life is fine. Then do that enjoy him or her.
Tell them how much you love 'em.

You really should take her to the vet. If you have a good one, the only reason to put her down would be if she is suffering and cannot be helped. By not taking her, you are not giving her a chance to get better. Don't let her suffer. If money is an issue, be up front with the vet, and explain your situation. Usually, they are understanding, and will allow you to make payment arrangements.

You have to take her. Get someone to help. Use a ramp. Put her in a box and use a dolly. In Georgia we have Vets that make house calls. Check around. Maybe you do too.
