No it is not, if it were then I would be bald or my brother as both grandfathers were.... sometimes it isnt even inherited though most often it is.... I have seen some go bald, or at least a very receding hairline, at very young ages where there was none in there family for as far back as any one could recall...

It is true that susceptibility to hair loss is genetically determined. However, baldness can be inherited from either the maternal or paternal side of the family. It is generally felt that baldness is an orchestration of several genes. Baldness is a dominant trait and those who are born with the genes responsible will likely experience some hair loss in their lifetime

I don't know if it has any truth to it, but I've heard several people say that your baldness (or lack of) comes from your mother's father. If he was bald or balding, then you would likely be the same. Again, I don't know if this is an old tale or what.

That seems true in my case or at least thinning. Never seen a bald guy on my dads side, but one of my mom's bros was.

yes ..its just a study.........ask around and chances are ...if you know someone bald their moms dad was bald..like I said its just a study......and most times its true....if your moms dad has hair so will you ..........just a study though thats how they get out the info..baldness does run in ones family thats a know fact...and with the survey they must of gotten most of the men that were bald had moms that dads were bald

hereditarily speaking, yes, the mom's side only.
